The tooth

I went to my dental appointment yesterday and the dental assistant was like me saying " I don`t see anything wrong with that tooth so I will go ahead and make an Xray. I have a small bite and I can say its very uncomfortable getting an X-ray of a back tooth. The dentist came in and she looked at the tooth, tapped the tooth and asked me to tell her if it hurt, nope nothing. Only hurts when I eat something cold. Then she gave me the X-ray results, dead root and you`ll need a root canal or have it pulled. Since I don`t know if I have a heart problem or not, since the doc appointment is still five weeks away the dentist put me on antibiotics just on case there is any infection, because that would make things worst. I have no idea if I will have it fixed for $600 up ( that`s a massive amount of money for a tooth) or have it extracted. The thing about this back tooth is that it has not hurt not one more time since I made that appointment.

I suppose it's not cheap to get it pulled either. I had one back tooth pulled instead of fixed. I don't miss it.

That is the debate, to pull or not to pull.

@andriaperry Well I am in my 60s. It gets easier to decide to pull.

@andriaperry I am glad I am not in your shoes. I hate to go to see a denist for any reason. But you hang in there and I will feel a little pain on the day you have it taken care of.

Teeth are tricky but when they start to hurt, the pain is excruciating. I have changed a few things in my diet to maintain my teeth but I don't know if it will work. All the best!

If it's not hurting I wouldn't do anything.

That's the way it usually works--something hurts until you are on your way to the doctors!! I make appointments just so I'll be cured teh day the appointment is for!

That's the way it always works, that it stops hurting as soon as you get to the dentist. Maybe you'll have to threaten it with the dentist again when it starts hiurting, lol.
