Look up atheists V pro-religionists and creationists and you’ll find all the big names there defending atheism, Richard Dawkins, Lawrence M Krauss, Christopher Hitchens and Philip E Mason, also known as Thunderf00t. The Mason output is extremely prolific, and often fearless. He has produced a now 43 episode ongoing Youtube film series called ‘Why Do People Laugh At Creationists?’ which dissects many claims made by the most outspoken pro-creationist online activists and writers, including Sarah Palin. Though often satirical, Why Do People Laugh is often angry and serious as well as often funny. Thunderf00t is quite passionate in his convictions. He undoubtedly knows what he is talking about. He is a leading British biochemist, with a PhD and many research papers to his credit. His critics often respond on a personal level, criticizing his stammer, unkempt appearance, etc. He has a strong support base among atheists which leads some critics to quite falsely claim he is a cult leader and a neo-Nazi. As Thnderf00t speaks out openly on extremist feminists like Anita Sarkeesian, (who made bogus claims about sexist imagery in video-games) he is criticized as misogynistic. As he takes on Islamic Creationists, he is accused of Islamaphobic racism, etc. There have been repeated failed attempts to get him fired from his job, and get his Youtube accounts shut down. His Twitter account was suspended due to aggressive unfounded challenges by his opponents but later reopened. Thunderf00t has provoked such ire and vitriol for his no nonsense common sense stance. The first Why Laugh at Creationists video attacks Videofangx, a young leading Creationist for freely and liberally claiming the flood created the Grand Canyon in five minutes flat, and that water exists nowhere in the Universe except Earth though it is among the most abundant elements on many other Worlds, though usually frozen. What is clear is that Creationists often make unqualified unresearched statements suggesting a remarkable indifference and wilful ignorance of actual physics and chemistry. They then wonder why professional physicists like Mason point out that they are wrong and accuse the physicists of conspiring to obstruct their free speech. The conflict with Videofangx got litigatious though the men eventually reconciled as Videofangx backed down on his threats, after he dared to threaten Thunderf00t with unlawful law suits before they united for a joint Youtube film discussing their respective beliefs. Videofanx has since relaunched himself as a more moderate Christian, dumbing down on many of his own Creationist views. Thunderf00t tends to swear in his videos so I haven’t added a link here due to the site’s rules on such, but he is well worth viewing. Arthur Chappell

I am also an atheist and a agnostic. I think that like anything else someone can go to far. He is obviously passionate about his beliefs or her wouldn't swear. And there are those that feel that their beliefs are the only way. Those types scare me.

I don't mind the swearing - it captures his sense of disbelief at some of the points he touches on - it just restricts being able to add the links to his pages on sites like this

@arthurchappell ..I understand that. What I meant was that his swearing would tell me he was very passionate about whatever he was saying.

I personally see nothing to defend Arthur. I am an atheist, which is likely to remain the case whatever anyone else wishes to say about it. I was never convinced that the ancient Greek, Roman or Norse Gods really existed, so why should I believe the current myth.

Many creationists are in positions of power and want their teachings presenting in schools - the defence is more against creationists than the nonsense they preach - they poison minds of the young if unchallenged
