Tonight will be the night! In this part of the globe, the New Year ’s Day comes ahead of those living on the other side, so we will enjoy the festivities ahead of you, my fellow friends in the US and nearby countries as well.
There are so many horns blown by people here in my place. Well, that is better rather than the fireworks that bang so loud, your eardrums might be damaged. I laugh at a post on FB that the manufacturers made a new fire cracker named after---“Goodbye, Miss Columbia”, but the authorities say this is illegal.
That is why I suggested to my siblings that instead of lighting some fireworks, we can just light some sparklers, and sing loud through our videoke machine. Our neighbors have started singing out loud with videoke machines which they even rented for the New Year. No "My Way" still sang though, to this moment!
Let us make some noise to welcome the New Year with a big bang! How about you my friends, how will you make some noise?

yeah, it was the neighbor's karaoke that woke me up this morning.
it's not a noisy here as previous years. people now seem to wait until it's midnight to light up the fireworks.

@hereandthere yes it was better, but then, the street sweepers might have had a hard time cleaning the streets because of the mud?!

no sparklers for us; I guess we will just have to sing the New Year's night away!

This year, both in Switzerland and Italy, all the noises have been banned to respect the pets and the wilds animals. I am so glad they took this decision, so many cats and dogs were killed every years because they run away from properties scared by the fireworks.

@ridingbet The main reason this year to ban the fires, was also the lack of rain for more than two months. Everything is dry, we are surrounded by forests with pines and spruces, they easily catch fire.

we are lucky because our dogs were not scared of the sounds; they even wanted to go outside and watch the display in the night skies.

it is nice, because accidents rarely happen when the community celebrates the New Year with less fire works. Happy New Year to you.

There will be a lot of noise here tomorrow night; with bells and fireworks going off until 3am. It happens every year.

the loud sounds are finished at 1AM here, but it will be a sight when the fireworks are seen in the skies. I intend to take some video shots of these fire works.

Usually at midnight some of my neighbors light off fireworks and that's plenty of noise for me

I think it is better to just watch the display from afar rather than we light the fire works in out lawn. The danger of not being able to ignite it can cause problems especially if we go near and light it anew.

I sang at 11PM last night. Well, my voice was not heard by our neighbors because practically, all neighbors were singing out loud. the difference are the songs shouted; errr, sang!

Maybe I will use the covers of our cooking pots to make some noise. Lol
Jk! I remember when I was a kid and made use of those, I got sick afterwards. I am not sure why but my mother said maybe because of the very loud noise. Hahaha Is that possible?
