Which is better - Kindle or Nook?

When it comes to reading books I prefer to read paperbacks or hardcovers as opposed to e-books. I love holding an actual book in my hands, turning its pages, and inhaling the aroma of a printed book, especially if it's old. E-books just don't have that. While I prefer "real" books there are only so many of them that I can store in my wall organizer. I've already run out of room. I will continue to buy books from authors I already own. Perhaps, I should consider getting myself an e-reader though because I don't need to worry about running out of storage space since I can store hundreds of books on there. Since I love to read, and read a lot, that is a huge plus. Not sure that I will cave in yet, but if I do I am not sure which e-reader is best to get. Should I get the Kindle or the Nook? And which one specifically is it best to get within the Kindle or Nook family? Looking forward to your suggestions.

Since you enjoy reading so much, it is good for you to buy a kindle. After all, this product is not expensive now. I suggest you buy the most common kindle for reading and it will be good enough. In fact I ever thought about buying a kindle, but then I don't think I read so much and I gave it up.

Well, that really depends. Are you looking for something that you can use only to read books and other publications, or would you like something that will allow you to stream videos as well? What sort of budget would you like to stay within?

I am only interested in reading books. Don't care about being able to stream videos.

@lovebuglena You'll probably do just fine with the basic Kindle, then, which sells for $79.99. They also have the Paperwhite edition, which is a bit more expensive at $119.99. The big difference between the two is that the basic Kindle doesn't have a built-in light, while the Paperwhite does. They can both hold a charge for weeks, so you'll probably rarely have to charge them.

I vote Kindle. Have you had a look at this?
If you have difficulty reading normal-sized printed books, here is a relatively low-cost solution: The basic Kindle reader device, the one that sells for ca £50...
