How often do you shampoo and condition your hair?

For ladies, we have all sorts of hair products on the market allowing you to not have to shampoo/condition your hair daily like dry shampoo.
But for me, I just can't go without shampooing my hair daily especially because I have fine hair and on top of that an oily scalp! And it isn't recommended to shower your hair daily because of the nutrients are being drained. Lately, I noticed that my hair is starting to fall out more often now plus stress.
Since yesterday I had my hair cut - shampooed, conditioned - this morning I did not shower my hair and it isn't so bad! Because now my hair is shorter and I see less of my hair falling out! I researched online and it's recommended to wash your hair only like 2-3 times a week.
How often do you shampoo and condition your hair? What brand of shampoo/conditioner do you use?

Being a cosmetologist, I know that we shouldn't wash our hair daily. But I do indeed wash my hair daily. I just can't stand not having clean hair. My hair falls out but only when I am under excess stress. I use Bioloage Shampoo. And of course I am going to recommend a professional product as I know what the over the counter stuff is doing to people's hair.

@T_gray I always get nagged by my parents about washing my hair daily since I don't have much (very thin/fine) + an oily scalp. I used to use Bioloage Shampoo, but not anymore. I was recommended to just use baby shampoo because it has less chemicals/no harsh chemicals.
Any recommendations?

@T_gray Yes, I agree! I also need to stop stressing and I have a tendency to scratch my scalp which isn't good either. The baby shampoo is great to clean your eyes also!
Especially when I feel like a sty is coming (once a year or so) or my eyes are over used by the computer, I rinse my eyes with baby shampoo and my eyes are very refreshed afterwards!

@infatuatedbby I have actually heard good things about baby shampoo. So I would continue with that if it is working. Because it is also very affordable.

Like you my hair has always been baby fine and my scalp and hair oily and especially in summer need to wash it every day. But I have longer than I have had in many years and sometimes can skip a day washing if I am doing nothing but staying at home

Yes, I am going to try to skip washing my hair on days I'm home. During the summer, I have to wash my hair or else I'll feel icky.

It's very common for me to have more hair fall when my hair is longer. Now I always keep my hair short, as it's easier to take care.
I usually wash my hair daily. As I am staying in tropical country, it's very hot every day, hence I feel more comfortable washing my hair always.
I apply shampoo daily, but not conditioner. I read that conditioner is actually not good for our health, or the health of the hair (I can't really remember). Since I am quite lazy, so I just apply the shampoo. It saves me money from buying hair conditioner as well.
I do not stick to the same shampoo, sometimes it depends which is having promotion. I usually use Rejoice, now my husband just recently bought Head & Shoulder. I am not sure if these brands are available in United States as well. I tried to go for less expensive shampoo, but there are some I just can't apply, as it makes my hair very dry.

I haven't heard of Rejoice, but I have heard of Head & shoulders , my boyfriend uses that brand.
I think if I lived in a tropical country like yours ~ I would shower daily. Even here, I do but today I tried going without showering my hair for 2 days & so far I have seen less of my hair falling out! Tomorrow I will shower my hair though.

I used to until about a few days ago! I've been noticing my hair is falling out much more so I am going try the recommended 2-3 days washing my hair a week to see if I notice any difference. But I do shower myself daily.

I have short hair, but I found that my hair falls out often ~ so I am trying to shower my hair 3 times a week and condition at least 1 week.

I use conditioner maybe once a week, but yes with conditioner my hair gets smooth and easy to comb but extra oily afterwards ~ as my hair already is oily. hehe.

i think fine thin hair looks less limp when it's short, even slightly layered.
most people here wash their hair every day because of our hot and humid climate.

Yes, since I have fine hair - I have to leave my hair short and I have it layered slightly also!
I get my hair trimmed every 3 months now also.
