Remember How Family Friendly This Guy Once Was?

Yesterday in the newspaper there was a political cartoon that caught my eye. It was in the Hamilton Spectator our local big city paper. Editorial Cartoons in the paper are done by Graeme MacKay. He is an amazing artist. I sat down and wrote an article and then realized it was not "Family Friendly" and not suitable for myLot a family friendly website. I deleted my post but I still want to share this photo of the cartoon. So to make this Family Friendly i am changing my thoughts and words. This man in the Cartoon was welcomed into our homes for years, he made us laugh and cry and his show was the best ever. Until he hit the news last year as a pervert. I am 100% behind the throngs of women who have come out and told their stories of being hurt by this man. I hope sometime soon he will be in Jail for a long time, It makes me sick to think someone we thought was so special, so funny and family friendly was really a creep. I hope he is the exception and not the norm. I would hate to find out that all the loved famous people in the world are perverts too. That's not a happy thought is it? Are you like me looking forward to watching this evil man's life unravel?

You are right, it was a shock to read that this man has abused women. Now, we still do not know if he is really guilty. Being famous sometimes can bring a lot of problems.

Very true but so many would not have said he was guilty if he hadn't abused them. I tend to believe the women.

I agree I loved watching the Cosby show it's a shame of what he did.. Remember 7th Heaven? well the "Reverend" Stephen Collins admited to molestation charges. I used to love watching that show too. There are a bunch of SICKO'S out there.

I've noticed with fame come an ability to be someone awful and not get caught. Thankfully many more will not stay quiet anymore.

I saw this man in the front page of Yahoo News thanking his supporters so I wonder why there are those who still support him. Oh well, I pray justice will be served the soonest.

He's an actor, I think maybe his wife is supporting him but I can't imagine anyone else is.

@PainsOnSlate Maybe he is just imagining that he has supporters. I doubt if there are fans who could still support an evil doer like him

I'm not so sure the media is telling the whole truth nor do I believe those women were completely honest about their relations with him. From what little I've read it's like reading about Michael Jackson, he was a very creative successful artist and suddenly a little boy of about 10 I think starts slamming him with all kinds of accusations, personally I didn't believe the little brat, some boys will be boys and will lie to get what they want and in that frame some women will be girls and lie to get what they want. I'm not so sure that either party is telling the whole truth and the media has proven to always try to cast a shadow on someone if it means they'll get paid more. Do you really trust the media?

I always thought that there was something creepy under that façade, especially when you think back to his fascination for children that he exhibited during the jello commercial days. Strange.

@tallawah This is the problem with putting people up as so-called decent icons. They're human. And in most cases they haven't personally put themselves on this pedestal. It's usually done by a media who are doing it in the full knowledge that these people will slip up or behave like normal, flawed human beings and boy, won't they enjoy covering the fall from grace, a grace which they have instilled on that person.

@tallawah I don't care how he portrayed himself on chat shows. When he was on chat shows he was still doing his job! People must be very naive if they think a celebrity is actually being themselves when they appear on a chat show. They are portraying what they want the public to see. I understand why people are angry but they really should be angry at themselves for being foolish enough to hold up these sort of people as role models. Do that and you will only ever be disappointed.

@tallawah But he's not a product! His show was a fictional show. It wasn't a documentary! That wasn't his real wife. They weren't his real kids. It was sold as fictional entertainment and as such it delivered. No room for any law suit. VW, on the other hand, manipulated data to make their product appear more attractive than it was thus providing an edge, which didn't actually exist, over their competitors. Their product even violated US legislation. The same can't be said about the Cosby Show. And I think we can do without the Nazi comments!!

I was totally stunned and appalled when I first heard about it. I thought, there is no way he is guilty. But now with all the stuff and people that have surfaced, I can't help but believe he is guilty. I hope I am proven wrong.

@PainsOnSlate I saw something pop up on the bottom of the screen that said he wouldn't be charged for 2 of the counts but I don't know which ones they were.

There is one principle of law, which is also protected in the Human Rights convention and that is the 'presumption of innocence'. The gist of it is that the person must be presumed innocent until proven guilty. I am neither against nor with him; but I think the verdict of the court itself will shed light on this matter.

I haven't been following the entire story but it is weird that so many people kept quiet for so long. They know he is famous and has money. I think it is just to ruin his career, or possible something happened and they over exaggerated it.

His health is already unraveling. I think the stress alone will kill him before any verdict can be rendered. There are too many closet perverts.

He has long been an upstanding member of society. It's very troubling that he really is not. Just goes to show how you can't judge a book by it's cover. Yes I want to see him rot in jail. Dirty stinking old man.
