Porter Ranch, L.A. evacuations due to methane leak

"Gas is spewing into the atmosphere at a rate so fast that the well now accounts for about a quarter of the state's total emissions of methane - an extremely potent greenhouse gas." Doesn't it feel sometimes like there are so many troubles that we need to just stop, and "rewind the tape" of how we're living, so that we can live instead in a more organic and less poisonous way, in accordance with the earth's- and therefore our own- needs?
A state of emergency is declared after a leak at a huge natural gas repository spews methane over Los Angeles for months.

This sounds dreadful. Feel so sorry for the people in the area who can't get away. If such places are to exist they should be better constructed and monitored

Oh yes certainly. You know, there are really very few accidents like this (comparatively) yet it's business as usual. :/ I wish we didn't have to use such toxic chemicals anywhere and innovated better alternatives!

@buttheadface932 When we have governments with interests in supporting the big energy companies, there will be little done to develop alternative technologies that are not harmful

@Auntylou EXACTLY! A friend in the Green Party once told me that the best way is to offer tax rebates to companies for investing in alternative energies and innovations. Money talks!
