My unforgettable favourite toy. / myLot

My favourite toy was a teddy bear. He wasn't new, he had belonged to a neighbour's son who was several years older than me. He was in a good condition and his squeak worked , at least until I over squeaked his tummy and I loved him more than any doll I ever had. Rupert (of course) slept alongside me, he was soft and furry. Maybe that is when my love of soft furry creatures began. Lucy sleeps with me now, she is also soft and furry, she hasn't got a squeak but she purrs nicely when I stroke her.

The pet is rather more expensive to maintain than the toy.

sadly i don't recall a favorite toy growin' up. know i had some...prolly coz i was more interested'n the real critters 'bout? ms. lucy looks most comfy :D

My pets as a child were not so much fun as yours must have been. I had a grass snake, mice and a tortoise and there was a family cat. The cat got the mice and the snake had an untimely end, the tortoise only survived two hibernations. On reflection I was better off with the teddy bear.

That is a sweet remembrance of your favorite toy. I still have my first doll. She is all ragged, but I got her stored in a blanket bag in my shed to keep her from further falling a part. I was told my Grand Mother gave her to me when I was a baby. I played and played with her. She had a cloth body and when it tore, I got needle and thread and sewed that hole up and continued playing with her for a long time.
