A problem with bootleg movies

There is a website that I describe as, “Perhaps, not entirely reputable,” where I watch movies. I stay away from the bootlegs that are filmed in a theater because it’s usually at an odd angle, it sounds like it’s coming from the end of a long hallway, and there are usually Korean subtitles, or something. Oh, and you shouldn’t support people who do that. The bootlegs I watch are older movies where someone has uploaded the DVD. But there can be issues even with that. I was watching a movie recently and about five minutes in I noticed that it seemed to have some odd editing. There were some flashbacks in the opening, but there would be a scene of the main character eating at home, then there’d be this ten second scene of him driving, and then a scene of him going to bed. It wasn’t until the third or fourth of these odd edited scenes – which cut mid-sentence to another mid-sentence – that I realized that the disc they were coping was skipping. So this bootlegger didn’t bother to check their product to see if it was any good. What’s this world coming to when bootleggers don’t take pride in their work?

I have to my knowledge not watched any bootleg movies. I wouldn't even know where to go to find those type of movies.

If you do a video search for any movie, there will probably be a link to a bootleg version in the first page or two of results. Of course, there's a good chance a bunch of those will have malware.

What is the world coming to, indeed? Fun and informative post because I never knew there was a website showing bootlegs.
