Couch Surfing: Can You Deal With It?

I like traveling from one place to another. The first thing to do is to have reservation in an affordable hotel. I don’t need to have an extravagant place to stay. I am a practical traveler. Some people from all corners of the world travel to different places without over spending. A friend of mine recommended to try couch surfing, it is a commonly way of having affordable accommodations. There is a hesitant from within not to try it. I am not sure if it feasible and safe to crash with someone’s place. Have you ever tried this kind of adventure? Is it safe?

I have never done it but my friend's 30 year old daughter has also done it all over the world and met some wonderful people.

@BelleStarr I guess there is no harm of trying it. I used to be a backpacker. So I am starting to be open-minded for such adventure.
