"Lattice" Entertain you!

Lattice is the word of the day, for me anyway, well, that and blueberry! Put them together and what do you get? Blueberry Pie. My husband loves blueberry pie and after the apple pie a few weeks ago I promised the next one would be blueberry. Today was that day. I did cheat a little and use canned blueberry pie filling but only because the berries at the store looked like last year's leftovers. But that pie crust is all me...and the help of my husband. He does the processing and then he gets to clean the food processor! I do the creative part - like the lattice on top. I could have gone the easy way with a regular top crust with some slits, but that was no challenge! This is my second homemade pie crust and the first time I've done lattice. Looks pretty darn good if I do say so myself!

Your pie looks beautiful and it is surely delicious. Can you believe that I am so lazy that I have a special cutter to make the lattice.

@AbbyGreenhill I bought this gadget years ago in France, I do not know why, but I am attracted by all those kitchen gadgets.

Oh, gee, you cheat with that! I did it the hard way. The pie is very good, and I must say I will make another at some point, but I think I'll look for the special cutter first LOL.

Very nice job! I have been rather hungry for a fruit pie. We usually get the marionberry we get at Albertson's. It gets old after a while but it is good.

@AbbyGreenhill ....It is a blackberry that was developed by the University of Oregon. I think they do mix some different types of berries into the pie.

A delicious looking lattice pie, I can taste it now. When I saw the title I was thinking of the lattice type material used to train climbing plants on.

We have had a food processor for a few years and hardly ever used it. Once I got into making pie crust it has been the best thing ever! What are you making?
