The One Liner!

Do you respond? Do you just move on? There seem to be a few one line discussions, posted on Mylot. The doesn't seem to be a rule about the length of our discussions. Maybe it's because Bubblews required a minimum of 400 characters. Maybe, it how little effort goes into posting a picture with a short question as the text. Maybe I'm being judgemental. It is hard for me to even attempt to respond to these discussions. On the other hand. Could I get over my aversion of one liners and submit one myself? It would interest me to hear your thoughts.

I think it really depends upon the content in the one line. Mylot say you shouldn't post discussions which offer little value but that is somewhat subjective. Generally one liners aren't interesting to me but occasionally a one liner does attract me. It is very difficult to make a quality discussion with one line but that's just my opinion.

Yeah...I could say I am joining ISIS and a whole lot of people will come to tell me why not without really knowing which ISIS I mean.

I've seen the odd line, that just makes me want to jump in, but most, I think, how about a little effort.

I don't respond. I try to only respond when I have something valuable to add, and one liners don't give enough to develop a valuable response.

I rarely leave comments that are only one liners. I guess I am long winded.

In my opinion most one liners don't give you enough information to even make a comment.

Some of the comments left are also impossible to respond to. They get at least a like to show I read them.

Are you talking about one line questions or what you say after the question? I try to keep the headline short because some people have short attention spans. Then I expand on it after I write the headline. I try to make it interactive such as What do you think of Windows 10? Then I go into concerns I have about my download of 10.

@akalinus I mean, when you read the headline, it's enticing. The post consists of one short sentence. No farther dialogue. Most of my responses are longer.

I usually don't respond, as to me, they aren't real discussions, as they have no substance. I prefer to respond to those that have substance to them. One liners to me just aren't worth my time.

@Morleyhunt That is funny. I don't do them either, as I at least want to make mine have substance.

I guess the verdict is in. No one liners from me. I probably couldn't write one if I tried. Look what happens when I comment. Diarrhea of the month.

I just ignore those as they are not real discussions, only a thought.

I'm starting to feel, I'm not alone. My responses tend to run longer than the short posts.

I'd think the best way to respond to a one liner would just be a "Yes," or "No." But what's the point in commenting if you put that little of thought into it?

Just moving on by is probably the best response.

I have no issues. As long as the subject interests me. Like I could say...there should be ban on artificial insemination because it brings down adoptions. Wouldn't you have a whole lot to say there, and me a whole lot more to justify my stand?

I doubt I'd ever do a one-liner myself, but maybe I'll try it one day. Although it's odd seeing them done that way, I have responded to a few. If the topic is worthwhile, and I can find something to say about it, then I will. If the topic is odd or less than the best, I'll pass it by.

Mostly I don't respond to very short posts. I can't get over the feeling that the writers are being a bit lazy.

I don't know. If you can't come up with more than one sentence then that is not a discussion at all.

Most of these one liners are in the form of a question. Tomorrow, maybe I'll count and see how many I encounter.

Personally, i have witnessed this happen thousands of times on Bubblews before they started dropping off one-liner stories. I don't comment or like them, but as long as the website let's it happen, all we can do is ,"give to the ones that deserve".
