Ben, The Babysitter

Ben, the baby-sitter, is not a man or a pretty and sexy woman like the former nanny of Hollywood’s Ben Affleck and Jennifer Gardner. Ben is a 10-year-old dog – a spaniel-terrier mix. Ben is the pet of my son, Jem, and daughter-in-law, Marj.
My two young grandchildren, a boy and a girl, love Ben so much. Surely, Ben feels their love that he is always following and playing with them. If they are watching their favorite TV show, Ben sits quietly beside them. When they come home from school, Ben is waiting for them by the door. Ben knows exactly the time my two grandchildren arrive from school.
One weekend last summer, my son and daughter-in-law were outside doing some yard-works. Our two grandchildren sat by the door to watch their parents working in the yard. Ben joined them and sandwiched himself between the two kids.
Look at their picture above, is it not cute? Truly, a dog is man’s best friend, if treated like a friend. I am sure, though extremely kind and friendly, Ben would never hesitate to stop anyone who would try to harm my grandchildren even if he loses his life.
We learn “true friendship” from the dogs. Do you have a dog?

Yes, I have a dog named "Happy". He is an "aspin" but a short dog.
There's also another dog at home. When he sees me, he kneels down and bows his head like I am his master. He was born while I was on vacation last year that's why he was already a big puppy when I came home. And when he first saw me, he was barking and I thought he will bite me. After a few days, he started kneeling and bowing. Haha! That's why my mother said that dog is mine now.

@brokenbee . . . Wow, your dog is lucky to have you as his/her master (Is it male or female?) Well, I would be happy like your dog, happy, to be your all-around-servant 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you are my master.

Actually, @alchemistrx, I was attacked and bitten by a dog 7 years ago but that did not change my love with dogs.

I think dogs love kids! Even the 2 cute, lil dogs of my daughter love to play with our grandchildren. Here is a photo of my daughter's small dogs.

I have a dog, and I love dogs. I am a veterinarian and I operate on dogs too, but now, I am not working my profession. I sometimes get calls about dogs that need treatment.
your picture is a good illustration of the dog as a man's best friend.

I don't have a dog but I recall an interesting conversation with a cab driver. He said he has three dogs now and they are his best friends and he had others earlier too. He even compared their love to God's unconditional love.

Yes, I do, and unfortunately for me, the time has come for me to put her down. She has cancer very bad. I've put it off until now because she was still quite active despite the cancer. Now things are different and it's time.
Ben is a wonderful dog. Your grandchildren are lucky to have such a wonderful dog.

I love this picture and the babysitter. We have one of these babysitters also. We had a dog years ago, Chocolate Lab, named Josh. He was very good about the babies... He would even pick them up by their diaper when they cried, and bring them to me. He loved the kids. Beautiful picture, and babysitter.

5 plus 3=8. the 3 are Darna, Zeus, and lady, the offspring of Thor and Macy. Definitely kabsat, our dogs delight us even though every morning and any time of the day, we collect their poop, and wipe dry their pee.
