We have been having oven problems. We had the unit go out in the oven and maintenance replaced it. Then less than a week later that new unit caught fire and so we had to wait the weekend and call them this week to have it replaced again.
Tonight my daughter fixed pork chops which she always baked in the oven so they are nice and tender. We also had brussel sprouts and a baked potato. Yum! It sure was good after having soups and whatever could be fixed on top of the stove the last few days.
And we had the washing machine over flow a little while before all of this happened. Of course we have been in this apartment about 15 or more years so it's about time things started going on the blink.
How's stuff working for you?

Yes, unfortunately at times things do run in threes and hopefully for you not more than that.

@Marcyaz ....Oven unit caught fire and had to be replaced. Now the maintenance was just here repairing the dryer. We only have the fridge and dish washer left to go. LOL

That sounds delicious. I haven't had porkchops in awhile now.
I find appliances do not last like they once did. I got an old fridge, stove, and microwave from the second hand store (I am talking this should be in my Grandma age before I was born). Works the best. I had got some at first that only lasted 6 months.

They have some cheapies out there. I like the workmanship of the older ones but the size is horrid.

@celticeagle Yes, the size and sometimes the noise
. But they work great, and with hand a lot. I like the old look as well.

Last year was our year for all the electronic appliances to breakdown. It was a huge drain on our finances.. we were hoping that our water heaters would work for a few more years... but they blew out.. now we have replaced them all and hope to live in peace for a while.

Glad we rent. That's the main reason I never bought a home. Hope you live in peace for a long while.

That must be annoying but glad you finally had a nice dinner without any issues. It's always nice when you can cook nice meals instead of going out or doing something simple.

Oh know fire from the oven? I hope everything was fine.
Your dinner sure does sound delicious. I haven't had some pork chops in a while. Stuff at home is working, my parents recently changed the washing machine.. still have an old dryer though! Going on 25 years I think! We only air dry, occasionally heat dry.

the last appliance to die here was our washing machine though we have had that for about 20 years or more - the new one from the Autumn works fine

@arthurchappell ...Harhar. My alarm clock hasn't been an alarm clock for several years now. Luckily I don't need one often.

@celticeagle my radio alarm clock has endured since the early 1980's - it's in better shape than I am

Surprising that your oven went twice. Glad you enjoyed the pork chops (they're one of my favorites) and sounds like you enjoyed a delicious dinner

We were without an oven for around 2 months it was a nightmare. Finally we got one that worked just fine and are now happily roasting and baking in it.

My oven hasn't been working for awhile. I can't afford to get a new stove. I do with out it. I have a little counter top thing that backs.

@celticeagle In many ways renting is better.

I don't remember the last time I used the stove/oven!! I use the microwave oven, the crockpot, an electric teapot, a blender, a steamer, etc. :O)

Fifteen years is long time for appliances in these days. Glad you were able to have a nice dinner finally
