Scream like a madman when they call. I just did it and they called back to see if I was okay. But of course I kept screaming and then was silent. They probably thought something crazy was going on. Especially the "Its got my leg!!!" part of the screaming.
Well, that's what they get.

put them on hold, aka set your phone down by a radio or something playing irritating children's songs and walk away

@Jessicalynnt Well, some numbers I need to come through because it's a business line, and the list doesn't work as well as it should.

The problem is that these people hang up right away. A few times before this I tried to tell them to put me on the do not call list and they hang up before I got to the second word. I kind of just want people like that to suffer unending torment. That's where the story inspiration came from for "The List" I mentioned in my other post. :P

Maybe. I don't think they appreciate things one way or the other. The call says New Jersey, but they always have broken English and very heavy Asian accents. So I'm going out on a limb to say they are foreign callers.

While that is a concern from a legit source, this is an illegal group that keeps calling me. I would hope police would call first to verify. I have asked this specific number to put me on their 'do not call list' and they hang up each time. When I do say hello they hang up. They have lost all compassion from me.

You need a toddler who you can pass the phone to every time they call so all they get is babbling toddler talk. If you're not expecting other calls you could just pick up and leave them talking to thin air whilst you go about your day. Or just start bombarding them with really personal questions. Keep a whistle by the phone. Just repeat the same thing every time they say something or ask a question.
I love that they rang back to make sure you were okay! Not what you wanted, eh?!

I think they probably thought it was a wrong number or something. :P
