Broncos and the Patriots

Even though I know there aren't many football fans at this site, I had to cover the 2 games that were played yesterday. (The Cardinals/Panthers in the next post). What made this game so tight was the defense on both sides. Quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Tom Brady were sacked multiple times. The first half for the Broncos had TE Owen Daniels making 2 TD's and a FG whereas the Patriots could only get 1 TD and a FG; making it 17-9. In the second half the Patriots had a comeback with a FG and a TD while the Broncos could only get another FG. With 12 seconds left in the game, the Patriots tried a 2-pt conversion but it was intercepted by the Broncos. Final score: Broncos-20, Patriots-18

I'm a casual fan. I used to watch football every Sunday. I'm still a pretty big baseball fan.

@TheHorse I'm an all-round sports girl. I played basketball and ran track in high school; played golf, badmiton, horse shoes; and have watched soccer, baseball and other sports and enjoy watching the Olympic Games. The only thing I really don't care for is hockey.

I love my pro football @amadeo . I think a lot of folks from England and etc, equate football with their soccer. Plus a lot of ladies (which we have here) don't like football. Of course I will be doing a post the day after the SuperBowl. I hope my Panthers win.

Hi Nanette. Yes there were fireworks going off around here when the Broncos won. May the best team win now at the SuperBowl.

@nanette64 I rarely watch a game, even the SuperBowl..used to Nanette. I was only watching the after game show last night as it was interfering with the new XFiles show lolz But yeah, I saw the Carolina players..those guys are huge lolz

@TiarasOceanView You don't see many quarterbacks (Cam Newton) that are 6'5" and weigh 260 pounds and can run like does.

You have to mention that the Patriots' kicker, who hadn't missed an extra point all season, missed one early in the game, necessitating the failed two-point conversion attempt at the end.

Gostkowski is an excellent kicker and when that ball took a huge right turn, I couldn't believe it @TheHorse . And you're right, that made all the difference in the end. Plus, the 1st possession in the 4th quarter when they were at the 26, they couldn't make a 4th & 1 yard gain and had to turn the ball over to the Broncos.
