Great-Grandmothers

McKenzie, my great-granddaughter.. and her beautiful smile

While sitting here watching the birds and the squirrels eating just a few minutes ago, my little great granddaughter, McKenzie, kept popping in my mind. She is beginning to talk now. She will be one year old soon. She calls me Nana Truddle… which my name is Tutti, but Truddle is as close as she can get to it. :: smiles :: Most of my friends are great-grandmothers now and my son is a grandpaw… (unbelievable). But I was thinking.. Have you all or did you all, when you were young, meet and get to know your great grandmother? I did not, on either side. And when I was young and spent so much time with my Granny on both sides.. mother and father, my grandparents looked so, so old.. They looked like they were one hundred plus years old. I don’t really remember how old they were. But they sure never looked like any grandparents we have today. Most of my friends still look very young and very active, just not the memories I had of my grandparents. So I guess my great grandparents were way too old to be alive still when I was young. What about you all, do you have the same memories? Has time changed so much, or am I just not wanting to admit I am way, way old also. But I don’t really feel way, way old. Whatever, I love being a great-grandmother to my little McKenzie.

Yes i still talk to my grandma and grandpa every day. We don't see them often as they don't drive much but we still text, talk and video chat with them. Their the only ones i have left which is my mothers parents and my grandpa is in his 80's and my grandma 70's.

I loved my Granny dearly. It hurt so bad when she passed on. She is responsible, along with my Mom, of me accepting God as my Savior. She taught me all about Him and how wonderful He is. Thank you Shavkat. Blessings my friend.

Moondebi, lucky you. I only got to meet my grandmother. The others were already gone when I was born. I have wondered about them.
