This past Monday senior and junior Corporate employees were handed their pink slips.
It is being said they are trying to steamline their structure and there will be various other leadership changes coming.
The chairman and CEO Ron Sargent wants to buy Office Depot but there is opposition from The Federal Trade Commission.
The company also has spent two years in a store closure process that was expected to affect at least 225 locations.
It seems we are hearing of closures and buy outs all the time these days.

Where I am living now the closest one is over an hour away so I no longer go there so much.

@infatuatedbby A lot of stores are closing their doors and pretty soon we won't be able to go and look at what we want in a store because there will be none that are open for business.

@Marcyaz that's a shame! I prefer to shop in stores to see the items physically!

I've not heard about this before and I guess because we don't have that store here. I'm guessing it's a office supplies store?

@VivaLaDani13 Yes, it is an office supply store and the place where I bought my first laptop. So many places are laying off or cutting back I think it does not look good for the economy.

Staples's and Office Depot's post merger downsizing indicates that the companies hasn't been doing that well in recent years. It's always depressing to see hundreds of workers lose their livelihoods overnight. The way Staples handled the situation appears unrefined and abrupt.
