Working on a new project

I just got a new project which is to develop a web application. Though I still have another two projects in hand, one of them is pending at my business partner, another one is not so rushing, so I think I can manage this project. I think it's quite an interesting project, and it's not complicated at all, so I have confidence to get it done in a short time. I just need some motivation to remove myself from the online world, and start working. I have done the basic structure design just now, hopefully I'll be able to get some coding done by end of the week, before I go and enjoy my Chinese New Year holiday. Hope you have a good day as well!

Thanks. Yes, it is on 8 Feb, a few more days from now. I guess I will really be having good rest, as I won't have access to my computer.

@kaka135 I hope you don't get withdrawal symptoms. It can feel like you have a limb missing if you can't have access to a computer.

@JudyEv I don't think I will, I have experienced that many times. I always thought of planning to do something when I go back to my in-law's house, but it always seems like I am busy with something, perhaps just relaxing.

That's what I learned. I really enjoy coding and designing the web applications, it's fun and interesting. Of course, there are challenging and struggling moments as well.

@paigea I recently came across a coding tutorial online, it's designed for age 8 and above. I have tried it out for awhile, it's quite interesting. I think it'll interest the children.

@kaka135 Some schools are trying to introduce coding at an early age. The grade one students were playing games/ more like working out puzzles on the computer and the teacher told me it was going to lead to them learning coding.

Thanks. This programming skill really helps me to make the decision of becoming a stay-at-home mom, as I can still earn some income while taking care of my children at home.

@kaka135 That is lovely! Hopefully in the future I will be able to do some sort of at home job and watch my kids (when I have kids)! Day care could be quite expensive also!

@infatuatedbby Yes, I think childcare service is getting more and more expensive here as well. For me, it's the mother's instinct that drove me to quit my office job. I never thought of becoming a stay-at-home mom until my elder son was born. It's just something I really wanted to do at that time - be with my child. Besides programming job, I thought of other alternatives as well, in case I couldn't get projects, such as setting up online business (see what I can sell), working online, giving tuition or lessons to other kids, providing childcare service, etc. I believe there are many ways we can do if we really want to do them. I also planned that if everything really doesn't work well, then I'd have to go back to office and work. Glad that we can still survive until now, after 5 years.

Thanks! Programming is what I studied in college, and that's what I have been working for years. I learned all those handwork (knitting, crocheting, sewing) in these recent few years since I became a mother. I am glad I have developed these hobbies as well. I feel like these hobbies make me feel more creative but not so dull as a geek, though I am never a tech geek.

Actually it is quite tight deadline for you. You still have to prepare food for Chinese New Year, so you have to get everything complete before Sunday.

Nope, actually there's no fixed deadline for this project yet. I just wish to get something done, not the whole project, by this week. I don't need to prepare much for Chinese New Year, as we are going back to hometown. I won't be bringing my computer back, so I'll have time to help my mother-in-law with some work and then just relax.

Thanks. I can do some simple, but not so complicated ones. Now I try not to take in too challenging projects, as I might not have time to commit. Though I really wish to learn something new and more advanced, I really need to prioritize what I want to do.
