I have made two red packets with felt for my children a few days ago. Now, the other two have been completed as well. I crocheted the Monkey face, and just make it a pocket to put some blessing money inside as their Chinese New Year gift. Now, I am all done with the Chinese New Year preparation. I just wait to pack our luggage and go back to my in-law's house for celebration. Meanwhile, I'll work on my web development project. Image: The crochet red packets I made for my children, with the monkey face as it's Year of the Monkey.

Thanks. It's always fun to make something for others, and teach the children the meaning of the festival as well. My in-laws has quite a big family, hence there will usually be more than 20 people celebrating together. They will have many meals together at my grandparents-in-law's house. We might not join them for all the meals, as I'll also go back to my parents' house. All the meals, I meant for about 3-4 days, as there are usually 2 day off for Chinese New Year, and most people will take another 2-3 day leave, so it'll be about a week for Chinese New Year holiday.

@TiarasOceanView There will not be many people at my parents' place, just my parents, my siblings' family and my family. I used to follow my parents and visit my relatives before I got married. But now that I have two children and pregnant, so I don't think I am following them to visit house one by one, it's too tiring. I'll be staying at my in-law's house more. My in-law's relatives usually gather at the grandparents' house, so it's easier.

haha, this is so cute. i hope that you do not go anywhere where monkeys are likely to appear. The monkeys will think that you want to give them red packets instead.

Thanks. Recently there is a monkey appear in the park in my neighborhood. I don't know where it came from, we saw it a few times in the park. Glad that it is alone, so it is not dangerous to us. I think the monkeys will only be interested if I put some cookies inside.

There are so cute. There is an art to embroidering faces on stuffed toys or wherever. Mine always look pretty awful but you've done a great job with these.

Thanks. I am learning embroidery as well, it's a challenging job for me! I always spoil my own work after the embroidery, glad that my children are very forgiving. But I believe practice will always make us better. Moreover, it's always fun to embroider something.

Thanks. It's also something to remind them it's year of monkey as well. We'll surely be seeing monkeys everywhere during Chinese New Year.
