Well, I tried

There has been an abandoned Siamese living under a mobile home not far from my house, so I go up to feed her everyday. She's gotten pretty use to me and even drools when I pet her. Last year she had a couple of kittens but I haven't seen them in quite awhile. There are a lot of loose dogs in the neighborhood and last week after seeing a dog trying to kill another feral cat in the area, I thought maybe I should go ahead and bring the little Siamese home with me this morning. Not that I need another one considering I already have 12 inside, but I just couldn't see this little precious getting hurt. So I took a crate with me this morning and when she came out to give me lovins', I tried to put her in the crate. Well that didn't work. She did a spin halfway in and shot under the house. I guess I'll keep trying.

Siamese are smarter than the average cat - and a challenge to control. Good luck with her. If you manage to get her home she'll be bossing all the other 12 around within a day or two.

I've been considering the mania that will break out when she arrives @boiboing . I have a feeling I'll be needing a Whiskey and coke or an aspirin...or both.

@nanette64 Might be as well to take her directly for neutering before you bring her into the house. An unneutered female will put the noses of all the other females out of joint.

@boiboing Good point. Otherwise I would be looking at wiping the face glands of all the cats and smearing the scent on all their faces.

So good of you to care for them all Nanette. Yes, it is hard to catch the creatures when they are wild, tho you have been familiar to her. To try again is the only option.

This is sad. I always get very sad when I see these abandoned or stray animals. I don't like that at all. Hopefully the weather is permitting enough that it survives. It's nice that you tried to help it; cats seem pretty untrusting by nature, so I can understand why it ran. Maybe if you try again, or put some food out, gain it's trust in that way, you could get it to come out. *Shrugs*. That is my best guess.

I've been feeding her for quite a while now @maezee and she lets me kiss and pet her. I think the crate just scared her.

It's not easy to capture a cat. A Siamese is not a wild cat, but they have a bad temper.

If you see a very large crate being delivered to your home @hostessman , you better hide. LOL

I had a wild cat that lived in my roof, the lower roof. I would open a window and place food out all the time, I actually touched him a couple times. He began to eat out front with the others but he lived wild for I know 8 years, then he just disappeared.

Well at least he was safe for quite a while @andriaperry . I had a feral show up and I put food on the porch for him every day. He'd wait til I went inside before eating. Finally after 2 1/2 years, he allowed me to touch him between the ears. It took another year before I could actually pet his entire head. Now, 5 years later, he'll curl up in my arms and take a nap. I was even able to take him to the vet. I did find out he has a tumor in his colon, so when I give him food now I have to give him 1/2 cc of Milk of Magnesia so he can pass his feces regularly. He doesn't mind. I think the little stinker likes me now.
