You Know Your Driveway is Long....

The home we live in has a fairly long driveway (~400'). It has a curve partway down the driveway.
Earlier this winter my husband placed some reflective markers along the driveway to make it easier for our visitors and family to back up.
The markers had not been in place for three days when the first one was knocked down. Since that day, that particular marker has been hit two more times and one of the others has also been knocked askew.
This afternoon, my little granddaughter indicated to me just how long our driveway was. She had been miss cranky pants for a while (clearly needing a nap) before we had to head out to yet another appointment.
I told my father, I'll bet she's asleep before we get to the highway (about 1.5 km). She was asleep before we reached the end of our driveway.

@Morleyhunt You are right, my husband does it every day easily, while our guests sometimes ask him to bring their car up to the road.

Practice makes perfect. At one time I reversed about 200' twice a day. You get really good at it after a while.

We love being so far from the road. I've never had a problem backing up in our driveway, but we have had more people get so far off the driveway...we've had to call a tow truck.

@Morleyhunt Off the driveway as in they were lost and needed a tow truck? Or they parked on your property without permission??

There is enough traffic that it is really nice not to be too near the road.

This driveway is level. The biggest challenge is the curve.

There is a turn around about half way down the driveway. I usually turn around and reverse into my final parking spot. Then I can just pull out.

I'd like a nap. Too bad the three year old and the 89 year old think they don't need one.

I don't have a long driveway, but this reminds me of a house we were cleaning a few years ago. It had a somewhat long skinny driveway that was paved with asphalt. It wasn't as long as yours, but longer than what I'm used to having to drive. I pulled in forward so had to leave backing up. I didn't do so well with that.
I got about half way and the driveway may have curved just a bit to make way for a tree, which I didn't see right away. Usually, I'll use my mirrors to back up because it's difficult for me to do it turning around. I figured since I had to back up further than normal, I'd do it properly. Problem was the tree was on my side, so when I turned around to the right and looked behind me, I couldn't see the tree in my line of vision. I side-swiped the tree, if that would be the way to define what happened, and to this day I have a dent on my door handle on the van. It's the door behind mine. We can't open it correctly because of it. I have to open that door while standing outside and reaching my left hand into the door handle.
We have a mechanic that said they probably had a handle in their junk yard out back that they could fix it for us, but I never have the extra time. We've used it this way for several years now and will probably continue to do the same. There's no seat inside that door because we use it for carrying our work equipment and a few employees, so they all get inside on with the door that works.

Wow! That could be risky for first-time visitors @morleyhunt
Over here, we haven't such driveways in our neighborhood. Wonder if your home is atop a hill.

No hill, just a virtually flat piece of land

She really was tired. She has also been a little trooper being dragged along to all these appointments for her Opa.

@Morleyhunt Sometimes a car ride can knock me out too.
