I remember when I was in school and everyone was scared about the year 2000 approaching rapidly because of the millennium bug. It was said by the news and government that all electrical devices would shut down in that year and that we would have a huge issue crisis.
I lived through the non existent crisis and it was a load of rubbish! Nope the electrical devices did not stop and the days carried on as normal...thankfully!
Were you scared about the Millennium bug?

Yes, at that time there were many worries about the millennium bug. People even thought it was the end of the world. But it turned out to be fine. Nothing went wrong. I think the scientists had already enough time to cope with this issue. As we are living in a world with computers.

I was not concerned about it. Just a lot of hype.

I wasn't particularly worried about Y2K as the millennium bug was called.

@gudheart the media does an excellent job of driving people into a frenzy. I take so much of what is reported with scepticism.

I remember that. It was called Y2K bug or something like that. I couldn't recall exactly and it created a lot of panic. The situation was similar to the panic created by the belief that world would end in 2012 according to mayan calendar. But we are still here, isn't it?

Yes, I remember it well. I had a small grocery store down in my basement to make sure I could feed my kids. I think we ate mushroom soup for months. It was much ado about nothing.
Everyone was waiting for planes to crash and life to grind to a halt but it was pretty normal. Everything was open and running about as smoothly as it would on any other day.

. The only thing that I noticed was that a few software were not able to set or display correctly the date after 1/1/2000, and I looked for patches/updated versions
.
