Kids Need Hugs More Than They Need Things

We should hug our children every chance we get. Hugs remind them that they are loved. Buying them toys and other things doesn’t work nearly as well as constant hugs.
Children left in orphanages who are never hugged don’t develop a sense of belonging and it’s very important. I saw a documentary on this some time ago and I remember seeing the blank looks in the eyes of the children. Although they had been fed and clothed and had some toys to play with, no one ever showed them any love by hugging them.
Our children need constant reassurance that they are loved and nothing is easier or costs less than a hug.
Have you hugged your children today? I’ve seen that question on the side of a bus. We shouldn’t need to be reminded, but sometimes we get busy with life and forget to hug our children.
What do you think?

Lots of hugs teaches children to be loving and kind to others.

@IreneVincent I agree, but have to say today the world has become far too materialist in nature.

Hugging is so important. Orphans don't get enough hugs usually or kids who are in foster homes, sometimes don't get a lot of hugs and they should.

I love this one, me and my wife hug the children but at times we are just a bit too busy, I will start hugging them more starting tomorrow and I would let my wife read this post too. Thank you and thank you lord for being blessed with wonderful children
, the children in the orphanages made me a little bit sad, i hope there are people who would hug them also.

Yes, hug your children as much as possible. Tell them you love them. It will help them to develop into mentally healthy adults.
