Should animals be killed for food?

This post is not to tell others what they should do or not do or whether they should eat meat or refrain. It is to express what I feel about it and to express what I feel the Bible has to say on the subject. * Originally, we were to be vegetarians. We were not meat eaters. * After the Noachian flood, God allows killing animals for food but they should not eat the blood. They can also be killed if they threaten our life. * However animals should not be abused. So, I am not in favor of the way most animals are raised and killed. * In God's New World, it seems that we will go back to being vegetarians. We have a mind and the power to reason and we should exercise it intelligently and with love. I will not put any videos with this post as there are plenty that show animal abuse and one can look them up. What do you think?

Muslims are discussing if they can eat meat killed by a Christian or a Jew. It is probably important for a Muslim, but I eat meat and I do not care who killed the meat. However I would not like that the animal suffered unnecessarily in a slaughterhouse. As a Catholic I do not eat meat on Fridays, but I eat meat the rest of the week. The Acts of the Apostles are clear "Rise, Peter, kill and eat".

@1hopefulman All I can tell is that I eat blood sausages times to times like many people here, but that I and many would not lack them if they were no more available : you get them in any canteen since school twice a month.

@Missmwngi The bible allows for meat-eating if we want. However we should not abuse animals. Proverbs 12:10 "A righteous man has kind regard for the life of his animal"

God permitted eating of animals during the time of Noah, after the flood if i am not mistaken. However even if it is permitted i am not really fond of meat, i prefer vegetables and fruits.

Yes, God allows us to eat meat at this time if we desire but many have not that desire. It is up to us. However we should not mistreat animals.

They were delicious so i wont stop eating those cute critters. I tried Veganism for 3 years, It got me hospitalized for malnutrition even if I ate tons of salads a day.

I'm with @JolietJake here - we clearly have the teeth of carnivores - I would not go by the Bible in general though at no point does it promote outright vegetarianism just a prohibition on certain kinds of animal - the last supper itself is clearly a meat feast

I'm not promoting vegetarianism. Though, I do think it is a healthier way. In the Bible, we started as vegetarians and in Revelation we seem to end the same way. Right now, we can eat as we choose.

@softbabe44 You could eat any grain like rice, or oats. You have the legumes like chick peas or kidney beans. Endless vegetables and greens and tons of fruitd and then you have the seeds like pumpkin and the nuts like almonds and the spices and the tubers like potatoes.

Im not for animal abuse but I dont mind animals killed for food purposes and not game, its in our nature as bigger animals hunt smaller ones in order to survive

Exactly, at this time, animals can be used for food but we should care for them properly as they are sacrificing their lives for us. We have no right to abuse them. It seems that in the next world we will again be vegetarians. Let God's will be done!
