Renee Zellweger: What About Her?

I recently posted a list of actresses that I thought were some of the best, but I totally forgot about Renee Zellweger. I really think that she is a very good actress. I especially liked her in “Cold Mountain,” for which she won a “Best Supporting Actress” Oscar.
Then, I found out that she was the voice for the florist named Vanessa in “Bee Movie,” an animated film created by Jerry Seinfeld, who also costars in the movie as a bee. I took my grandson to see that movie at a theater and was very impressed with it. Now, I’d like to see it again.
Renee Zellweger, I understand, is from the small town of Katy, Texas, but I think she now lives in New York City and has a house somewhere in Connecticut. She said, in an interview, that when she lived in Los Angeles, she didn’t like being followed around everywhere by the paparazzi.
That seems to be a real problem, what with all the “rag” magazines paying big money to photographers who snap pictures of stars in all kinds of settings. It’s a shame, that the stars have no privacy anymore. Or maybe they never did.
I never purchase any of those magazines. I do see them in doctor’s waiting rooms from time to time. You can’t believe much of what is written in them anyway. Sensationalism is the order of the day. Some love to have their pictures splashed all over the front pages of these magazines, but Renee Zellweger is not one of them. I think she keeps a very low profile on her personal life.

Oh, and btw, I loved her in Cold Mountain. I just recently watched it for the first time and found it to be one of the best movies I had seen in quite some time.

@IreneVincent it took me a little while to realize that it was Renee in character. She really did a great job well deserving the award.

Renee Zellweger has basically fallen the map not having a movie released since 2010 and her last several movies were little seen flops. She does have three new movies coming including Bridget Jones' Baby.

She probably took some time off, but I will be anxious to see what she has coming up. What were the "flops?" I don't remember seeing her in anything lately.

@JohnRoberts I will write those down and see if I can find them. I haven't even heard of them but that's probably not surprising if they were "flops."

The flops were Case 39 which I saw (bad), My One and Only and My Own Love Song. She is 46 now and at an age where Hollywood is rough on actresses. She isn't a young thing anymore to be doing romcoms.

Acting is their job. Just because they choose acting as a career shouldn't make them fair game for the photo happy paparazzi.

Yes, to most actors, it is their job and they want to have a separate family life away from the cameras, but the paparazzi won't leave them alone.

@IreneVincent I know that I wouldn't want someone stalking me to take a picture of me doing something that should be part of our private lives.

@ElusiveButterfly Me either. I think it makes some actors and/or famous persons become reclusive and hide away in their private homes.

Some exposure is necessary to keep their face in the public eye, so that they can promote their movies, I'm sure.

Yes, she was in "Chicago." I remember her in that movie, with Catherine Zeta Jones and Richard Gere, another excellent actor.
