For those people from Asian countries used to eat their meals with staple rice. Rice is one of the major commodities in these countries. Since it will not complete their day prepared on the long or round table, with the combinations of viands. Even in my country had created the legend of rice, since staple rice sustains the life of Filipinos. With these, I expressed my gratitude to the farmers who continued to plow the fields and plant the seeds of miracle. In time, they harvested the staple rice along with their family members. In the Philippines, rice is cooked with different style of menu. The most common is the local rice cake; it can never be prepared during the special occasions or festivities in my homeland.

Yes, we eat rice daily. It's so versatile. My area is too elevated to have rice paddies so it grows vegetables. The anciect name for ir means "no rice paddies." In the 1600s a daimyo had irrigation canals made so the area could farm. I live one block away from one of the canals.

I cannot imagine life as a farmer. It must be a very tough way to live. They do not get monthly salary just the rest of us, and they have to depend on the weather to determine their income. When a country has drought or flood, the harvest is gone, and they get nothing but debt.

@scheng1 It is really a tough job. I bow my heads for their courage to continue this kind of life. In some point, they do gain profit if no hindrances come along.

@lokisdad I do agree on that. A hot porridge can make the nuclear family survived in every meals.

@Shavkat Rice is not only good it is filling so if you have a large family rice would be fairly inexpensive and everyone would feel full.
