Presidents' Day

President's Day
@Marcyaz (35316)
United States
February 15, 2016 9:53am CST
This day honors Presidents of the United States and is a State and National Holiday. Some States call it Washington's birthday or Lincoln's birthday. Offices closed today are the post office, most banks, courts, stock market and probably UPS. If you are going to DMV I would check to make sure they are open. A lot of the stores will be having special sales today in honor of President's day.

Here in California, everything will be open except for government offices. However, I'm going to the beach to enjoy our 90 degree temperatures today, and it is open all the time!

It's supposed to approach 80 up here, even near the beaches! I'm going hiking over in Marin with a friend.

I liked it better when Lincoln and Washington each had their own day. It won't affect me here on Florida at all.

All our stores are having sales and the schools are closed which make my grandchildren happy that they had a long weekend. If the freezing rain comes tonight they might even have tomorrow off if the roads are slippery

Everything is open except the places you mentioned, though the Post Office is still open, not for business, but the clerks are still there sorting mail so it goes out tomorrow on time.

@just4him Well behind the scenes the PO would be open but not for customers to come inside for anything. Glad that the PO have the clerks sorting mail for us. Hope you had a good day.

Both President were born in February, Lincoln on the 12th and Washington on the 22nd, but the first President of the United States was Washington.
