I am not a Bonsai Enthusiast but this invention amazed me. During the 1980's the year 2015 is always portrayed by the movies as this futuristic year with floating cars and self tying shoes but sadly it didnt happen. It is now 2016 and we don't have such technology.
An inventor in Japan managed to do something you will only see in old science fiction movies. A floating plant!

@CaptAlbertWhisker It'd be fun to make people float like that! It could take the place of chairs . . .

I also wonder how will the plant stay alive if it's just floating around. I think it can be a conversation starter to all the house guests who will notice them.

@much2say I think a hover chair would be attainable at this moment with the technology they used for bonsais.

@Letranknight2015 Nasa wanted to make floating cities in Venus. There is an area in the Venusian atmosphere that is safe for colonization.

It looks cool though, It is not really something we need but it is a good conversation piece of the visitors we will have.

I would buy a floating bonsai but I hope my guests do not freak out thinking that it's a poltergeist.

I wonder if they can level up this invention and make floating trees and floating shrubs.

I really don't know what would happen today if we didn't have Japan in this world. Perhaps we would suck even more I think. And those are really cool plants since I've been gardening a bit lately. but I don't think I am for floating bonsai since i prefer indoor plants that doesn't need much attention.thank you for sharing though

I think his invention is already funded beyond the basic budget he is asking for because many people are amazed.
