Last night at Zumba class, one of my classmates brought her two kids, a little girl and a little boy. I think they are about 3 and 4 years old. The class lasted for almost an hour, and armed with baggies of chips and grapes, the two kids are so well-behaved. For a few minutes, they tried to imitate and copy our moves. Oh, they looked so cute and adorable! When they got tired, they went back to munching their snacks. They only called their mom when they cannot open their juices. Then they sat by the back and played with each other. We can hear their squeals and laughter amidst the loud music. When the class was over, their mom chatted with the instructor for a bit and I saw them put their own jackets. One of the ladies for the next class went to them and asked if they need help, the little boy said “No, I’m a big boy now!” The little girl whispered something to him, and the little boy turned around to the lady and said “But thank you!”
I bet their mom is so proud of them. These are the kids that I don’t mind having in adult parties because they are well-mannered and taught. I know kids will be kids, but as long as they respect and listen to their parents then chances of them misbehaving and being a nuisance in public is very slim. I have friends who have kids that I just cannot stand. Don’t get me wrong I love kids. And while I do not have kids of my own, I raised my brother and sister so I know how it is to have two cranky toddlers with me at the grocery, I know how to discipline them, and I know how to deal with them when they’re being fresh at me. I am not suggesting that I have better parenting skills by all means, oh no. I am just pointing out that the kids’ manners and conducts are ultimately the parents’ or guardians’ responsibility.

It is nice to see well behaved kids. Normally the kids would run wild and disrupt class... it's nice that you were not disrupted by these kids.
