One of the clerks at work, the one who is in charge of timekeeping, was not having a good day. I am not sure what happened but I know that part of it is that there’s so much work to be done. And to top it off, lots of people have issues with their time especially right after the holiday, and she has to drop whatever she is currently doing to help them. I think at some point, she became cross at me. I am not really one to take anything to heart, plus she was never mean to me. I think she just had a long day today. Anyway, one of the newbies happened to ask me where she is. I already know that what he will bring to her is a problem, so I told him that she is “the amazingly hard-working and beautiful lady sitting by the corner”. Everyone laughed and the said clerk even cracked a joke about the way I built her up. So the guy went to her and they talked business. As they are finishing up, I heard the guy said “she’s right, you are amazing. Thanks for your help”. I daresay that her mood improved dramatically throughout the rest of her shift.
