When I went to Mountain Lake yesterday I like to go into the Mennonite store as they have a section that has crafts and some are very unusual. I saw this vase (jar) that had some marbles in it (some were a purple color and the others were just an off white color. Then there were artificial flower stems put into the marbles and it was very pretty and it even had a bow tied around the vase. I thought what a great idea for a gift marbles and flowers and it would be so easy to make. Don't you think it is unusual and pretty?

It is very pretty. I had gotten a vase somewhat like the one you have here with a lovely bouquet of flowers one time a few years ago. I had some iridescent oval pieces(somewhat like marbles) that I had used in a card game. I put the marble pieces into the vase and set it on my table. Your pic here reminded me of it.

@celticeagle Thanks, isn't it a nice reminder of something you once had yourself.

We like those kind of things to decorate with as well. We repurpose the jars though. IE: we take the old candle jars and make what you just talked about

@lokisdad Always a good idea to repurpose as you never know when you might use something like that for another project.

@Marcyaz My wife and I do lots of crafts and at one point she was making candles and the jars were super expensive she went back to buying them lol but she saved a few and repurposed them to get her moneys worth.

I love the one pictured for sure because purple is my favourite colour. And in general, I love things that look pretty like that.

The color combination is attractive and we can easily make one at home too. It definitely is an unusual gift.

I've never seen a vase with marbles before and this is a good idea. I like the color of the marbles but it'd be nicer if there were more flowers in it.

@Ladypeace There are lots of flowers in the vase I wanted to show mostly the vase with the marbles the flowers are further up but you can't see them in this picture all you see is the bow around the vase.

That photo is beautiful! I have used marbles in a glass vase to hold real flowers in place. It works and looks great.

It is nice. I have a simple glass coffee cup in my kitchen, which I filled with red imitation jewels (instead of marbles) and put red roses in it. It makes a nice spot of colour, and cost me less than five dollars with items from the Dollar store.

@AnneEJ That does sound very nice and right along the same line as what I have put on here. The cost is also very nice.
