she cannot understand the lesson. This is what my online student told me last night. At first, I was so terrified with this particular student. All my power are consumed during the course of the lesson with her. Since it is an online tutorial, the teachers can see all the evaluation score from the student. While I am having the lesson with the student, a pop out from the system showed her low score given to me. The only course of action is to ask some suggestions from the students on how to improve my evaluation score from her. I do think it is fair enough to ask the student, so that I will know what will be a strategy to satisfy her needs in learning English language. It affects my overall performance for the day and the downside, other students cannot see my own page to book their classes. The ending, the student refused to giver her own suggestions and claimed I am a bad teacher. So I ignore the subjective evaluation score from her and moved to my next students who can understand the language better than her. That's the downside of teaching online.

Hmmmm if one says you are, it doesn't mean you really are a bad teacher. Don't let her remark make you feel bad.

@brokenbee I just felt so frustrated. I had tried all the means for this student to learn the universal language. The sad thing, I even translated the English words and sentences into their native tongue. I also felt betrayed since she is my student in years now.

@Shavkat awww! I am sorry to hear that.
Maybe she isn't that interested in learning or maybe she really is a slow learner.

@brokenbee You got it right. She is really a slow learner. She is also full of herself during the class.

Sorry to hear she said that to you. But that is just one student out of X amount of students you teach. Maybe online learning isn't for her.

@infatuatedbby I guess she is really not into learning. Perhaps her parents forced her to study English language. What a waste of money for her.

I guess that the student may need an intensive tutoring in person. Don't be so hard to yourself.

@cherriefic Thanks for the concern. She really needs anger management.

There are just students who don't like to listen when they can feel that the topic is boring. I know it because I was experiencing to be a mischievous student before who didn't like to listen especially to the subjects that I can hardly understand such as Mathematics. hehe. If a teacher has a sluggish voice too, I lost my interest to hearken the important lessons.

@iamshane487 That's a big NO for the company. The class is so lively. I guess she is a slow learner and cannot appreciate the opportunity for her.

I think your student cannot fully comprehend the learning instructions you are teaching her and because her mind is close, she throws the result to you as being a bad teacher. if she is not our kababayan, then it is hard to have both your minds meet. but definitely my friend, you are not a bad teacher. (why don't you post the evaluation of the other online teachers to this lady so the other students will know her stand in class?)

@ridingbet If I can only post it, but it is not possible. It would be a big issue. This cannot be disclosed with the other teachers. But I can put some comments on her records.
