Deadpool shatters records along with the fourth wall.

Have you seen Deadpool yet? I will keep my spoilers safely tucked away, as this is not a review. I found it both hilarious, offensive at times, and totally not child appropriate. Saw many preteens there, felt a bit adult in humor in my opinion. Still I am not their parent, so whatever, they were quiet. The only rude person was the adult a few rows down who kept texting, the light from their screen was disruptive. There were lot's of inside jokes, those towards X-men, those towards some of the actors, or other roles the actors had played. So those can be fun to look forward too. Even the credit's and post movie after the credits bit that we all knew would be there, did not disappointed. Oddly enough, it was heralded as a Valentine's day romance, which was an marketing ploy to get women to take their men. But you know what? The joke's on the men, because IT WAS A ROMANCE, a very good, action adventure, bring a tear to your eyes romance. I will want to see it again, language and crude jokes aside. I am sure I missed some references here and there, as there were so many. Deadpool, as you know, breaks what is called "The Fourth Wall". This is a term borrowed from live theatre. On stage the actors work with three walls, as they face the audience, the ones behind them and to their left and rights. The fourth wall is the one that separates them from the audience. This is the 'wall' through which the audience views the play. Speaking directly to the audience, interacting with, or acknowledging them in any way breaks the fourth wall. Deadpool doesn't just break it...he blows it up and then sets the rubble on fire, then dances a rain dance on the ashes. From my understanding, this has been a thing of this character, established well before this movie. Oh and I heard rumors that something is in the works, for some format, between the men behind both Deadpool and Gambit. I do love Gambit, always have.

I actually went to see this on Valentines Day with my husband. It was just not my cup of tea. Way to crude and not enough storyline for me. I think i would have gotten up and left if I hadn't been trapped on both sides . My son warned me that I wouldn't enjoy it. He knows his mama. I would give it maybe a 3 on a scale of 1-10. Glad you enjoyed it and so did my husband

@Jessicalynnt it was my gift to my husband too. I had picked out the last movie, The Boy, which we both liked.

lol, well it is definitely not for everyone! I went for hubby, but was surprised how much I laughed. I could have done with a little less in your face crudeness, but eh, whatever.

Hubby wants to see it. Doesn't look like my kind of movie and I know absolutely nothing about this character. I'd only go for my hubby and to see Ryan Renolds. He's a good looking actor.

I only know the title from a survey video. I'll have to read more reviews. Not sure if it's my kind of movie.

Sounds like a good movie, but one that doesn't enthuse me enough to go see it. My son went to it a couple nights ago and enjoyed it.

based on getting to know you, on here anyways, I am not sure you would. It can be pretty vulgar. If anything wait and rent it at redbox to save the funds, just incase!

@Jessicalynnt Or if it comes on Netflix I might give it a try. If I don't like it, I can always back out of it, and I'm not out any money.

I thought it might be another action comic book movie but it is got a lot of good reviews about it being a light hearted comedy so I might give it a go.

comic book character, but didn't feel like "another comic book movie" for me. I was surprised how much of a romance it felt like.

Deadpool is one of its own kind movie...a unique departure from typical superhero movies...this is more funny and humorous and nasty.
