Too Long or Too Short

I have been on commenting sites too long.
Why do I feel that way?
Well see, I joined several buy sell trade websites in the area.
Often I am struck by how much money people want for stuff I would not wear or buy. I never say anything, I just go to another page.
I am having a hard time tonight. One of the sites has a lot of "new" skirts and shorts up on it. All from one person.
I keep having an impulse to comment on her pictures. I do not think the skirts and shorts could have gotten any shorter.
I do not think they would cover a bit of anything and I want to tell her so.
I sound like a grumpy old lady. So I came here to tattle on her.
I am keeping my mouth shut about her used "clothes".

I may have worn short shorts about forty years ago, but honestly do not think I ever wore anything as short as she is selling.

That made me laugh! You are not a grumpy old lady. I really don't understand why they even bother to wear shorts or skirts that are so short that you can see their hoo hoo.

@GardenGerty, you are right on that one. Leaves very little to the imagination. Why not dress classy and gain respect for showing less skin.

@ElusiveButterfly Actually my first husband always said more clothes were actually sexier than less clothes. I do not like leggings without a long shirt or short skirt over them either.

That's actually how I feel when I see the shorter stuff at thrift stores . . . particular the shorts and skirts. Seriously, I look at how short they are and I'm thinking who in their right mind wears this stuff!! I guess some young thang might wear them (obviously there's a market for it) - but um, it's sure not for me!

A few years back there was a trend toward the short denim piece then sew a skirt onto it, in ruffles. I made one for my daughter. Came to her knees when I was finished. Thrift item would be good to experiment with.

@GardenGerty That sounds cute and knee length sounds more appropriate! But I've seen denim shorts that look more like an underwear cut - and skirts that I don't how woman wear them because it looks like it's only a belt!!!!!

I do not think mine were ever this short, but I did wear some short skirts. To my fingertips.

@GardenGerty Pretty well. I've missed seeing your pretty, cheerful face! I'm looking forward to being in mylot more often. My last surgery should be this Friday on just my right eye. Then I'm good!

My great grandmother used to say, about an old girlfriend of my uncle's, "you can see her hairs!"
She was ashamed for the girl with how short she wore her clothing.
I think short shorts and skirts should be reserved for the home and not out in public.

I see bras, camisoles and slips from time to time. No briefs. Short shorts make a bit of a cover up for bathing suits. Not much. but a bit.

@GardenGerty I will see used underwear, not bras but bottoms! Now, I guess for those who really really have no money, maybe? I mean, I have no money, and I will just keep on wearing the ones I have, holes or not. Wouldn't get used I dont think.

I like long, dramatic, flowing skirts. I like the looks of the clothes the ladies from India wear, they are beautiful.

I am a fan of shorts because ...to be honest I feel sorta claustrophobic with my legs/ feet covered with anything fitting for too long. Can't even wear socks for too long. But I am not one for skirts. We had to wear those as part of school uniforms and that was enough for me.

I like shorts in the summer, but just not this short. If I had my choice I would probably wear leggings in the winter rather than jeans or slacks, but it is not always appropriate. I would wear long soft skirts, but that does not work for my job.

I love soft long dresses but I do not wear them to work as I have to be more active and sit on the floor etc.

Being in Kansas I was shocked the first time I saw people wear any kind of shorts to church. I do believe in being respectful when I go to church.

I'm always amazed when I got to the clothes nowadays. The shorts nowadays are so short. I don't know why they make them so short especially if kids can't wear them to school that short.

I agree, if they are going to be that short, it should be shorts.
