Good Fences Make Good Neighbors

I have been thinking about the fence that is being talked about between Mexico and the U.S. and this does make sense to me to have a fence made up of cacti.
It would be hard to climb on, over or next to without being pricked.
I think it would be a good idea to keep out illegals.
How does this idea sound to you?

Most are desperate to get to the US so I don't think that would stop them

Once pricked you don't forget and it would slow them down to have to stop and pull out the pricklies.

I am not as worried about immigration as many people are. I think we have bigger fish to fry in our country like medicare and social security but I think each of us respond to what affects our lives.

I also think that medicare and social security are important too but so is immigration as it is US the tax payers who have to take care of the illegal immigarants.

@Marcyaz Many of them have found work, mostly jobs that Americans don't want to do. Here in Connecticut it is farm labor.

I don't think it would work...it could be cut down easily with a machete.

I think that US and Mexico needs to come up with a plan that works. I doubt we will ever see a fence built.

@PainsOnSlate I think that some type of fence will be built in the future.

I don't know how to feel about this all. I mean the cacti could be easy to get through I reckon. I mean if you really wanted to get by, you'd find a way to get through that.
But if Trump is able to put that wall up then yeah, that would be a bit more challenging. But as for the idea of keeping people out, it has it's pros and cons.

We have a lot of illegal immigrants coming through and they needed to find a way to stop them as it is taking away from the legals here. It would be hard to get through some cacti depending on what type would be planted.
