Does abject incompetence ever put you in a bad mood?

I was in the best of moods. A friend had come over and listened to my new Dynaco Stereo 70 tube power amplifier, driving Marantz Imperial 6 speakers.. He agreed that the Dynaco Stereo 70 sounded great. I had enjoyed some funny discussions on MyLot. I had made myself some delicious pasta for lunch.
I went to Kaiser to pick up some meds that had been prescribed for me. I had it all figured out. The meds generally take 20 minutes to be ready. I had my Gatorade bottle with me, and would water the corn, squash, sunflower, and snow pea plants I had surreptitiously planted in the planters on the patio outside.
I placed my order and took my Gatorade bottle to the bathroom. I watered the snow peas. I went back to the bathroom, refilled, and watered the squash. I went back again and watered the corn plants that were just starting to poke through.
Then I went to pick up my meds. After half and hour, with my name still not on the "big board," I became a bit impatient, went to my truck, grabbed some sunflower seeds, and planted them. I went to the bathroom, refilled my bottle, and watered my new plants.
Then I refilled again and gave everything a good second covering. I noticed that the soil was still moist from our rains a couple of weeks ago. I smiled. Then I returned to the Pharmacy.
After an hour, I wondered what was happening. I stood in the (very short) line and asked if my prescription was ready. The women behind the counter said it was not.
After an hour and a half, I went back to the "sign in" window (where I had started) and asked if there was a problem. The man disappeared into the back, spent a lot of time talking to the folks back there, and finally returned, saying "they're finishing up your prescription."
In another fifteen minutes, my name was finally called. I paid for my prescription and left.
It had taken me two hours to get a simple prescription filled. It may be that it got "lost" somewhere along the way. I don't know.
What was supposed to be a minor inconvenience (waiting 20 minutes for a prescription to be filled) had turned into a nightmare, in spite of my good planning.
Should I let Kaiser know? This is not acceptable. Twenty minutes and two hours are not the same thing. There was no line.
On the positive side, the snow peas are looking great, and are throwing the biggest purple and white flowers I've ever seen. The snow pea harvest is going to be good out there. If anyone cares.

So where is it that you're doing all this planting? Not next to your home, but near the pharmacy? As for the time it took, maybe there wasn't a line while you were there, but maybe an emergency situation came in while you were watering, and took precedence? I don't know how it works over there
[temporarily forgot that over there for you is CA, not on the other side of the pond somewhere].. At least you got to enjoy your crops and start a new one in the process.
I was going to say it took you long enough for the follow and then realized I'd not done it yet either. So much for that. Love your greenery.

@TheHorse is the walkway to your apartment close enough to the pharmacy that you can go back and forth while waiting, or is the pharmacy nearer the preschool?

I'm not certain from your narrative whether the scripts were called in for you or whether you dropped them off. If they were called in for you, Kaiser does not fill them until you ask for them. How do I know? I've run into this more than once. So the strategy is that if you've had scripts called in, immediately call the pharmacy. Mine usually asks for an hour. I give them an hour and a half because I don't want to be frustrated when I get there.

The Dr. had phoned it in a few days ago. I went first to the "Check In" window, which is protocol. He told me it would be ready in 20 to 30 mins after that. I did my evil planting stuff and then got in the main line, which was short. When my name didn't come up in 1 1/2 hours, I went back to the Check In window. It appeared someone had lost my initial request.

You had quite the patience there the first few times though! I hate when that happens.. taking longer than the usual. I am quite very impatient when that happens.

I had the reverse problem the other day, I dropped off a prescription at CVS and they told me it would be more than 30 minutes so I decided to drive home and go back the next day. Before I was even into our complex I got a text saying it was ready. If they said 15 minutes I would have stayed but she said the pharmacist was on break !! grrrr

I'm lucky. The VA mails mine to me, so I don't have to wait all of that time.
