About nine or ten years ago, I was writing regularly on eHow and I got to know another writer who lives here in Orange County, CA. When eHow changed the way they paid, we both moved to InfoBarrel ... and later moved on to other writing projects. Eventually, my online friend invited me to lunch at her house and we have been regularly seeing each other since then. She writes about entirely different topics than I do. While I write a lot about retirement for my blog and the stock market for the online newspaper where I write, she is very "artsy" and has a blog on how to make a wide variety of crafts. Approximately five years ago, I started writing books on Amazon ... two children's books, two wedding books, a religious book and a book about lies. I kept telling my friend how easy it is to write books using Kindle Direct Publishing and CreateSpace ... and they are both free. A few months ago, she decided to write a book on how to make hinged bracelets out of clay. The bracelets she made are amazing! She had me come to her home and I tried on all 25 of the bracelets. She photographed the bracelets every step of the way while she made them. Once she was finished creating and photographing them, she wrote a book! I helped my friend edit her book, looking mostly for grammar and spelling errors. I also read to see if I thought I would be able to make the 25 bracelets myself, based on the instructions she included with the photos. I found her instructions very clear and detailed. She just published the book in February, and has already sold several dozen copies. I'm so proud of her! I don't think of myself as "crafty," but I was really impressed with the book she put together ... and proud of her for trying! If you like to make things out of clay, you might want to check it out!

Sounds like she did a good job on that book. Making things for the fun of it is a good book to write.

Because of all the photos and the complicated layout, I think her book was more complicated than all my books put together!

@just4him - She created the cover design, too. She took photos of some of the bracelets she designed and created the cover design. She is very talented.

@DeborahDiane I have checked the book, thank you. Now I have to check if I can have it from Amazon France or Europe, the shipping from the United States is too expensive.

@LadyDuck Amazon does print-on-demand and I think her book will be available in Europe for a price comparable to what it is in the U.S.

Ha ha! She edited the first book I wrote, so I felt I owed it to her. Besides, so much of her book is pictures, it was pretty easy to edit.

@JudyEv - This book was written by Gloria ... Domestic-Diva or divaonline. I am sure you remember her from our InfoBarrel days. My book that sells the best is "Your Guide to a Fabulous Las Vegas Wedding." I have sold copies of it all over the world, since people come from everywhere to get married in Las Vegas.

I'm so thrilled that she did it! She had to do it all ... make the bracelets, photograph every step, write the book, put it together on the computer, submit it to CreateSpace, etc. I was very impressed!
