Feeling a Bit Stupid!

Well, it looks like I've just done a silly thing. I guess that's what happens when you've spent all day on the computer doing other things. My brain obviously isn't functioning right tonight. An hour or so ago I wrote a post about the monarch butterfllies in our garden. I think that post just wasn't meant to happen right from the beginning. Half way through writing it, the post suddenly decided to publish itself, half way through a sentence. I quickly clicked on edit, finished writing it and added a photo. All seemed to be going well. Just now, when I looked in, the post appeared twice in my list of discussions. That's okay, I thought, I'll delete one of them. Hey presto! By deleting one I managed to delete both. No, I'm not going to write about the burtterflies again, not tonight anyway. But I've found a different monarch butterfly photo to use here, the other one was on my laptop.. If any of you did notice the discussion was there and now it's gone, that is why. So, now I'm feeing a little stupid.

I don't think you should feel stupid. You were a victim of the ghost in the machine who decided to play havoc on your post.

@DWDavis, I think another time I should wait and see what happens.

Apparently some Monarch butterflies migrate, so maybe yours did so while you were trying to post about it. The post may appear in Mexico before long.

Ha, ha. Re the real butterflies, can you imagine our poor little things flapping their way across the Pacific.

Don't you hate when that hapens? I have been hitting the wrong keys on my keyboard, and presto, my post disappeard as well, and I would have to start over. I have done that more than once today. I guess my hands are getting tired, and letting me know it is time to take a rest.

@valmnz I shall see how today goes, as it is just getting started. I hope that I dopn't lose any postes today, as that is so frustrating as I hate to have to start over again.

I am pretty sure it was only a glitch, it showed twice because you have edited the post. It happens.

Ah, yes, I had edited it. But I often edit posts and they've shown twice before.

@valmnz I have noticed that this does not happen all the time, but I had the same problem once.

sounds more like a technical glitch than human error ... but these things happen.... usually when you are writing the post directly onto the page, and not somewhere like notepad first.....

Here I always write directly onto the page. But this was actually already published and had responses.

I do agree, but I needed to explain, for those who had already responded to it.

so how did that happen? I am thinking it must have been a glitch in the system!

I think it's what @LadyDuck suggested below, that it showed twice after I edited it. Never mind.

glitch in your fingers - I am sure it happens to all of us - I personally have done something similar a few times, but just move one to another subject. Its as if the subject is telling me its not ready to be published!

I wouldn't feel stupid, that sort of stuff can happen to anyone. Hopefully you won't have any more problems posting now.

Thanks, I did notice you had commented on it, and was going to respond to that once I'd solved the problem of duplicate listing. I think we were all paranoid about duplicate listings back on Bubblews, so I thought I'd better correct what I thought was my error.

No need to feel stupid. Although that never happened to me, I have posted some horrors, which needed editing immediately, including photos.

Seems butterflies were not in mood to get posted today. Technical glitch was just the reason.

I wonder why you deleted one but it deleted the two of the doubled discussion . It could just be a glitch . Or maybe you were already sleepy .

@valmnz I end up with a glitch ever now and then. I just save the article for another day.
