What An Ordeal!

I mentioned in another post that I’m trying to get my old photographs organized. So, today, I had some time and it wasn’t too bad, weather-wise to go out. So I headed for Target.
I scanned 109 OLD photos and that took quite a long time, because the scanner wasn't working right and it was causing the photos to stick together and not move through the scanner correctly. They told me that I could put up to 20 photographs in the scanner at a time, but I actually had to start doing them one at a time and it was very time consuming.
Then I asked for some help for the next step after scanning. You won’t believe what happened. The employee who I THOUGHT knew what he was doing, accidently deleted all 109 photos and I had to start all over again. I was so frustrated, I could have punched him in the nose. LOL
Then, I asked another person to help me and she knew what she was doing and showed me how to edit, crop and rotate the photos. That took forever because she kept telling me to use the tip of my finger on the screen and it wouldn’t respond. So, I finally figured out that I needed to use my fingerNAIL to make it work.
That seemed odd to me, because my daughter told me NOT to use my nail on my Smart phone and IPad. Such craziness.
Finally, I got all of the photos edited and ready to print. By then, my back was screaming at me because of the way the screen is situated on the counter. I had to lean over the counter to use the photo screen and the scanner. My back hurt so bad, I was ready to lie down on the floor to straighten it out, but found a chair around the corner where people apply for a job at Target. It took a long time for the photos to print and then a DVD too. I was in Target for THREE HOURS doing this.
I have about that many more photos to do, but, never again will I do that many photos. I was trying to get the best price, since the more you do, the cheaper it is, but I really only have to do 50, I think, to get the best price.
Next time I will be more able to do the photos by myself because by the last 20 I did, I was speeding through them. Once I got the hang of it, and knew what I was doing, it went much faster and it’s a good thing, because I was ready to faint away from the pain in my back.
And I still had to stop at the grocery store to get my pepperoni. I was so tired when I got home I had to lie down to get my back to stop hurting. I put some heat to it. I have this thing full of seeds that you warm up in the microwave and that really helps when my back is hurting.
Now, I have to sort all the photos and get them into albums. I’m sending some more to my brother in Georgia and made a few for my children. This has been quite a project for me, but I’m so glad that I’m finally getting it done.

Young people now take photographs with their cell phones and I do too, now, but 100 years ago, there were very primitive cameras and so I have all these very primitive photographs that I needed to copy so that they could be preserved for my grandchildren and great grand children. They are fascinated with these photographs, because they don't even think about what it was like to be able to take a photograph 100 years ago. I am hoping that I can put some of the photos up on MyLot for everyone to see. I did make a DVD with all the photos so I can upload them to my computer.
