Two strikes and you're out

United States
March 6, 2016 6:37am CST
Spring training has begun and in the game of baseball you get three strikes. Well, real life isn't all that generous. Some people give 1 chance to get it right, which is probably what I should have done...but I didn't. I spoke to the painter on Wednesday, he was to call Thursday - he didn't and that was strike 1. I called him again on Friday, he said he would call Saturday and then come look at the job - he didn't and that was strike 2. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. You don't get a third strike. I don't care how good your work is, if you don't have time to call a customer back you certainly don't have time to do good work - not at my home anyway. I will be calling someone else and he will only get 1 strike. Photo: pixabay.com/en/baseball-college-teams-ball-batter-680079/

I hate it when people hired to work on the house let us down like that - getting rid of someone so unreliable was the best thing to do

@arthurchappell The guy who recommended him is our realtor so I don't think he would have given us a bogus guy...but then again who knows/

I would do the same. If he does not care to acquire a new client, imagine when you become a client. Find another.

@AbbyGreenhill maybe not ... at the moment... but it won't do his reputation any good for future bookings... you are better off without him....

I am in absolute agreement with you on this. I also do not care how good or how cheap a tradesman is, they are of no value to me unless they actually turn up and do the job.

For him to say he was going to call and not on two separate occasions, I also would not do business with him.

Which reminds me - We need to ring our painter too. He was supposed to get in touch at the end of January but it hasn't happened yet. Luckily we're not in a hurry.
