Gosh! I am so pi$$ed right now..... INCENSED would be the right word maybe. Some people are just....ugh...
I just read a news article. We (meaning Indians mostly) know about the Haryana riots.
The article was on the way the Jat community is losing face regarding all the charges that have been thrown on them including violence, destruction of property and rapes....
Well there was a guy who commented that it is wrong to blame the whole Jat community for the rapes that some miscreants/opportunists were responsible for.
Okay, that is fair enough.
BUT he really ticked me off when he further stated that its the fault of the government and the authorities of that area who did not took their demands seriously. So those people were justified in what they did.....
I swear to God I wanted to reach out through the screen and friggin strangle that dude myself.
GRRR...........
In his further comments he was implying that girls are in the wrong when they get violated. Also in other words, by wearing short skirts, tight jeans, short tops, etc....etc.... they are basically asking for being raped.........
WELL DO HELL WITH SUCH DEROGATORY MINDSET AND THINKING........
DUDE GROW UP!!
AND VISIT A PSYCHOLOGIST WHEN YOU ARE AT IT........
BECAUSE YOU NEED ONE AND ALSO THOSE OTHER "MEN" (using the term loosely here) WHO CAN'T CONTROL THEMSELVES AND GO INTO SPONTANEOUS FRENZY SEEING GIRLS.
The problem is YOU.......
(All the expletives deleted. They were too many.

@Daljinder Yes the mind remains feeble and doesn't help anyone.
@vandana7 Not sure why that would be considered a curse, or are you taking responsibility to change people? That is very noble of you!

Porridge, I am going to start an agitation that in case a man rapes he loses his property, and his share from his ancestors, and his wife too stands to lose 50 percent, and so do children. Trust me Porridge, one law like this, these rapists will start behaving themselves. The mindset that is coming up is truly truly truly disgusting.

I am scared to say this, still putting it out.... this turn is given by you only. Starting with Its like saying... you built a whole premise and proceeded like it was actually said. Was it?
Agree with what @CaptAlbertWhisker said, "that they try to justify crimes and defend terrible people" and that is bad. Justifying any crime, destruction of property included.

For destruction of public property, we need to send bill to the agitators. If they are asking for separate rights for Jats, how much public property is destroyed, and all expenses directly or indirectly related to it will have to be cleared before anything further is even considered. From where did these people learn such nonsense.

There are a lot of men who think like him. Women can be the same way. For instance my mother and mother-in-law said a lot of what that guy said about women asking for it by how they're dressed. That was the mindset of yesterday. Today, things have changed and we need to change our thinking along with it.

Blaming and criticising Government for everything and anything is easiest thing to do. Many communities/castes/sub-castes keep raising reasonable and unreasonable demands, should the Government accept everyone's demand? Is it possible? It is not possible.
Government does its best to accommodate each class in their schemes, yet people are never satisfied. No legislation or law could be perfect, there would always be some loopholes in that.
I would like to add here that findings of some Government agencies reveal that no rape took place during Jat riots.
Blaming Government of any agitations/unrest and blaming girls in case of rape are two different things and parallel cannot be drawn. Blaming a girl for rape and not the rapist shows the narrow mindedness of those who give such statements.

@Daljinder - Social media such as Twitter and Facebook etc. give unbridled freedom to everyone to throw out their towel and say whatever they feel like. Some of the nuts use the platform to vent out their perverted thoughts. Those who write inflammatory and derogatory comments on social media should better be ignored. Their intention is that you should react to their unwanted comments and if you read and react, you fall prey to their tactics.
I am not aware whether the matter of alleged rape was hushed up (you have seemingly done some thorough research on it).

Blaming government for unrest and blaming girls for rapes are two different things. I agree. I edited my post because reading it seemed like I was co-relating two separate things.
Actually I as reacting to his more vulgar comments that he made in his string of comments. To summarize those he said "Women shouldn't even be out there flaunting themselves." And I am re-writing his statement in a few and polite words.
Yes the government agencies did not find any such cases because the police hushed the battered and scared victims. They told them that they would get more humiliated and ridiculed if they took it further effectively playing with their traumatized mindset.
The rape incidents wouldn't even have come into light if the villagers nearby haven't given shelter and clothed the victims themselves. They were witness and couldn't swallow the cover up. So, they reacted. Anonymous calls and reports were made. Since no victim filed FIR, it was dismissed.

If you need peace....and there is one advice that I can give -
Never read the comments posted by Indians-Pakistanis-Bangladeshis on any media. They are all crap and filled with angst, hate and mostly by people who are misled.
We are yet to learn how to behave, forget the commenting systems or the Internet.

@Daljinder I stopped reading comments on most of the websites I visit. Reason being, people just put it up there. They need to be noticed, talked about and have nothing to do with the post/video or whatever on which they post it. They just are there to spread unhappiness - they know, such remarks will attract many others, and I always fail to understand how this helps them at the end. Dissatisfied souls for sure.

How can some men harbor such barbaric thoughts is beyond me. A crime is a crime and nothing can justify it. Violence against women has been steadily on the rise in recent days. But atleast women are not shying away from their rights nor are they paying heed to such thoughtless comments about dressing or late night jobs. Sometimes I think we should bring in barbaric laws to actually make these men understand their fault. For a theft in some countries, they chop off the hands of the culprit. For an offence as serious as violating a women they are just put behind bars and fed well here. When will the officials learn?

Exactly!! Even though fast track courts are set up. The punishment is not good enough. Not severe enough for people to fear it. To discourage them from committing such crimes. Actually @Vandana is thinking over to start an agitation over this. She had come up with a new idea/solution and we are looking into improving that. So it could be put out for more exposure and gain support.

You are correct, many men like to blame women for their inability to control themselves .... perhaps those are not actually men, they are too immature to be allowed to call themselves men and should be castrated and put in detention centers for many years. Personally, I think those kinds of males should be forced to clean the streets and cess pools.
It should be the priority of parents to teach their daughters self defense, at least then they have the chance to defend themselves but still, governments need to harshly punish those who violate women and girls like that.

@rebelann In a way yes. Rape most of the time is to assert power over another individual. So, women haters would put them in their place in this way. Others have history of abuse and violence so they do what have been done to them.

Everything is changed, and so does this stupid generation of caste based vote bank. All thanks for father of reservation quota, Ambedkar; reservation that was actually thought to be provided to caste-less orphans, persons with disabilities, poor and needy, it was gifted to birth based vote bank. Now all are bearing the heat from all sides.
They were not "men" they were "ambedkarists"

@Daljinder They forget their own ancestors, those who understand History, they might recall how Bhagat Singh, Sir Chotu Ram, Raja Mahendra Pratap, Girraj Sharan Bacchu Singh etc fought against this evil. Just one generation ago they were fighters as Marshal clan of Deshbhakts and Dharm Rakshaks, now bribe of reservation corrupted their mind.

Letran it is not about women wearing provocative clothes. It is also about the mindset. There is a beautiful car on the road. Why don't you steal it? Don't you desire it?
Because there is law and that is not your property. Ditto. If a woman is attractive and she is still not yours, the same rule applies.
Now take the case of December 16th gang rape in India. The girl was fully clad. In fact that could have become a handicap. She wore conventional attire. Many of the gangrapes out here are on women who are conventionally dressed primarily because conventional attire does not make running or fighting easy. Too bad if women look provocative in other clothes.
What looks provocative on one woman may not look provocative on another. Much depends upon physique also. Nobody deliberately dresses to be provocative Letran. Women know their limits. Many women don't even know when they are looking sexy.

Some fitness celebrity. Michelle Bridges I think. She got raped. When she went to the police, one of their questions was "What were you wearing?" Basically saying that the rape was provoked by her by what she was wearing.
Just disgusting. Who seriously wants something to be done to them against their will? Stupid.
