Now the task is my dad's mom.

As I said before, my mom's side of things is really easy to trace back. My mother's father has a strong lineage and my mother's mother does as well. I know that on my mother's dad's side of things we hail from Shropshire, UK. There is also German influence with his mother's side. My Grandmother (My mom's mom) is dutch irish with possible German influence. It's my dad's side that has taken the longest. I've already said that I finally figured out where my dad's dad side of things come from. Now I want to see about my dad's mom. I was mistaken in thinking that it was my dad's dad with Indian influence (Native American), it must be my dad's mom. Of course she was married twice and it's hard to back-trace her roots but I'm determined. I'm not really interested in anything further than our Native American ancestry there. To look at me? You would not see any kind of Native American in me, atleast not in skin tone. That is all for another day though as I work in a few short hours

Shropshire was the next county up from mine when I lived in Herefordshire.

I am not the one doing the research for that side of the family so I don't know anymore than Shropshire. The one doing the research for them isn't really focused on things that far back. They are trying to figure out who the mother ofthe line we came from is.

@Mike197602 Would that not be nice? I'll have to see. I've been told my whole life that it's a close line, as if it's my great great grandfather or something but I can not tell yet.

It is difficult though as I know very little to nothing about my dad's side o0f things. I was able to finally trace back his father's lineage but I know next to nothing about his mom.

I am truly amazed at how far I have been able to trace my family lines. Have you tried myancestry.com?

@ScribbledAdNauseum I've had that happen too. I know there are a lot of free online sites for genealogy, but be certain to check out the privacy terms before signing on -- some are just shill sites. I've had quite a few false leads, name changes, and the like, but the best thing to be is persistent.
