Last week I bought my children a used Playstation 3 on the Gamestop website. It arrived today. I was so excited when I saw it sitting on the porch. I took it out of the box and got it set up. I checked the mail and the Minecraft game I bought them on Amazon came today to. I have a headache and am exhausted. As soon as my children came home my daughter started bickering about whose turn it was to go on first and how this and that isn't fair. She said something rotten so I won't allow her to play at all today.

PS3 is a nice choice for the kids. I have one and a collection of game discs which my little brother still plays every now and then

@KityCat wow you found an old post of mine . My daughter still plays on the ps2 now and then and my son plays on the ps3. He’s more into guitar now though so he plays that more often.

@KityCat I would never buy one new either it’s just so expensive what they charge when consoles come out

@shaggin that's good to know there is still players for the consoles But nowadays all the hype is about the latest PS5. I don't think I can afford it until they bring the prices down

That is so cool that your playstation3 was delivered on the same day and the minecraft game. When a child begins to act that way the best thing is to not let them play at all on this day.

That is what I did. She was not allowed to play the ps3 yesterday at all. Today it was her turn first. She played minecraft. Today the other game I bought came. It is call of duty 2. That one is mainly for my son. My daughter really is only into minecraft so I doubt she will ever play the call of duty game. I may buy them the plants vs zombies game for Easter as I just got some gift card codes for Amazon.

Wow that is terrible that someone borrowed it from you and never gave it back. They are so expensive to buy. I would be very upset with the person who didn't give it back. My children use my ipod as well. I won it. This ps3 is the first expensive thing I have bought my children. I have wanted to buy it for them for over a year and finally did it.

My daughter got to play it first yesterday and was happy about that. She played for her hour and then was done. My son played for the rest of the night and my daughter didn't want another turn. I was surprised my daughter didn't want to play more. We read a few chapters in the Harry Potter book together while my son was playing. I might buy an extra controller and another game for my children for Easter.

@infatuatedbby haha well actually the second controller would be for when they have friends over. My two just cannot get along doing anything even playing a video game together. I don't like them to play together because all they do is fight. My son wants to have one of his friends from school over to play call of duty with him.

@shaggin That's good they took turns playing! Another controller would be nice so the two kids can bond together sometimes!

Is the top of the console supposed to look like that? I've never seen a PS3 that had the area where the disc goes visible...

I was confused about the top looking like this as well. It has a panel that slides over to cover where the disc goes. I worried about pushing it and breaking it but you have to do that to close it to start the game up. Glenn's is very different. Mine is a slim version. His you push a button and give the disc a tiny push and it goes in. You push the button to eject it as well.
