Price Adjustment via Online is Possible?!

United States
March 11, 2016 2:04pm CST
Last night - I wrote a discussion regarding my mouse that I broke and bought the same exact one again at Best Buy. While writing that discussion - I went to go find the link and happened to see the price dropped $2 more dollars from what I paid. It would not be worth the drive to make a price adjustment but since I ordered online and picked up in the store, I decided to quickly email Best Buy customer service. I told them - I just bought this mouse 5 days ago and it's dropped $2 more dollars can I receive a credit of $2 back? Within a hour, I received a response and they issued me $2 back. Hey! Money is money. Who would have known they did price adjustments via online! Related post: http://www.mylot.com/post/2902330/i-love-my-mouse-enough-to-buy-it-again-after-i-broke-it

Pretty nice they did that. Surprises me as they also charge a restock fee if you bring something back you didn't want.

I think they stopped the restocking fee? Or, if there is - it can be on certain products. I bought a camera lens for my DSLR a few months ago and at that time - I didn't know if I'd like the lens. She said as long as you have a receipt - you are eligible for refund without restocking fees. I ended up not having to return it but it's nice to know policies encase. But it was nice they refunded me the difference

@fishtiger58 @infatuatedbby The current policy is that a deduction might apply to a return if all of the packaging and/or accessories aren't with the item. Special Orders of items stores don't usually stock are also handled differently, as only 85% of the original price will be refunded.

@infatuatedbby Maybe that's it they charge you a restocking fee if you don't have your receipt. Of that I'm unsure but yes way cool they refunded the difference.

Yep, we do! You can call our customer service number and have prices adjusted, too. All you have to do is request the difference--and that goes for our price or one of our accepted competitors. We'll take care of it within 15 days of purchase so you can be sure you're getting the best deal on the item.

Awesome - do you work for Best Buy? I prefer via email because I didn't want to wait on the phone he-he.

@infatuatedbby I do. I'd rather email, too... I just don't like talking on the phone.

I am glad this was handy for you! And @yukimori (works at Best Buy) and confirmed that you can also do price adjustments via customer service through the phone too if you'd like!

Another tip--if you spend large amounts and have a smartphone, get the Ibotta app. They frequently offer $5 off $100 rebates. All you have to do is have the cashier scan a QR code during the purchase, and it processes automatically in a day or two. Ibotta has lots of other good rebates on things like milk, produce, and brand-name items, too. They offer PayPal at $20 or a few other options like gift cards. Oh, and you can use the Shopkick app to collect "walk-in" points just for coming into the store. When you have enough, they can be redeemed for gift cards to various retailers.

I was very shocked especially since I had horrible service in stores for a pick up.

@teamfreak16 I don't frequently shop there because they're quite overpriced - but I loved the mouse.

@infatuatedbby - I'm boycotting them after a couple incidents with them, including a job interview. Very unprofessional.

Is there such thing as price adjustments where you live? Like you bought an item and a few days you return - it's cheaper? Do you get your money back.
