Day 23 – Hidden
Job 23
As children, we played hide and seek. Hoping no one would find us. We searched out the best hiding place we could find and if nobody found us, we kept that place secret from everyone else.
Job’s complaint is that he can’t find God. He can’t feel God’s presence and believes he’s not hearing his cries for relief from the affliction he’s suffering. He wants answers and the only answers he’s getting come from his friends who believe he needs to confess all his faults to God and God will instantly heal him.
Job isn’t alone in wondering where God is. David asked that question many times.
Psalm 10:1 Why stand thou afar off, O LORD? Why hide thou thyself in times of trouble?
There are many times when I feel like God has abandoned me, as though my prayers are going unanswered, and then when things look real bad, I get a breakthrough. He lets me know he’s been there all along.
I know I’m not alone. Many people have felt the same as I have and wonder when God will answer their prayers.
However, God does hear our prayers, all of them.
Psalm 10:17 LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: (KJV)
We need patience when we pray. God will answer us in his time according to his will for our lives.
Let’s pray: Father, thank you for hearing me when I pray and answering me in your time. Help me to have patience for the answer and know you are near even when it doesn’t seem that way. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.

@just4him Thank you! I had the vague notion my prayer hasn't been as effective lately, past couple of days. Usually it's very effective, and I was pondering on the cause of this.
Then I saw your post on this very matter! how very uncanny!

@Drosophila No, that's God. Nothing uncanny about it.
