My Painful Moment

A few years ago,l went to Egypt, everything was going wrong right from the beginning. When we reached the airport, we had to be transfered to a different airport because the flight had been canceled. At the airport, we waited again over 7 hours.l was seriously hungry and my husband refused to buy anything to eat and l did not have money of my own. in the flight, the turbulence was so much l was convinced we were going to die. The thought of dying hungry terrified me, I begged God to please wait till we had eaten before the plane crashed lol and promised that then I will accept death. When we got to Egypt, l have never experienced such heat, desert, again l though l will starve there to death. When we at last reached the boat in Luxor 20 hours after we left home (we were supposed to be there in 7 hours tops) at 2.30 am, we recieved the welcome speech............blah,blah then the local tour leader asked if anyone had a question. Without thinking l raised up my hands and blurted out " is there coffee and bread in the morning?" in my mind l was atleast if we are going to starve in this desert, l can survive with coffee and bread till we fly back home. The other tourists almost in unison started cursing and l realized my mistake, no one asks for coffee and bread at 3am when you`ve been around for over 20 hours. And l burst out in tears. How could l be so stupid infront of so many people?the tour guide came to my rescue and re-assured me there is coffee and bread. For the 3 weeks l was there, l got asked every day by the waiters *did you have enough coffee and bread?* even after l begged them to stop. After time in Luxor we went to Hurgada then to Cairo and Sharm-el-sheik,everyday when l came from breakfast there was a pot of coffee and a plate of bread waiting in my room with a card*with compliments from the house* Thinking of it now l can laugh but not back then. What is your painful moment? a moment you feel how could l have done that?

I loved every moment of my trip to Egypt. I have never had a painful moment when traveling anywhere, unless delays count.

Here is what I cant figure out here..why is the other tourists cursing? You are hungry for cripes sake!!! No harm done by you. I am mad at them and mad at him for not buying you food in the airport! Such treatment omg. Yes it is funny how the waiters tease you lolz One of my many painful moments was when I had to go to my salon that I worked in with my face half black from a bad injury and the other workers laughed at me. I hope one day this will be them.

@miniam Oh I see what you mean now..they wanted to go lay down but see their bellies were full..you were hungry poor woman.. Yes it was brutal the laughing because on top of that I was injured by bad things at home. Thank you for saying you would ask if I needed something. And I too would have fed you.

The other tourists were mad at me for asking for the next day food l guess when we had been around over 20 hours.Everyone just wanted to go to their cabins and sleep. l will and could not laugh if my workmate came into work with their face half black.l will ask what l could do for them to make them comfortable.

I hate it when I am that hungry. Your husband should have bought you something to eat, especially since you didn't have any money on you.

I've had so many embarrassing moments th are too numerous to mention. Most caused by my own stupidity, some by other people's intervention.

It is a shame you were so hungry. I do think your husband should have brought you something to eat before you got to the boat. I have a niece who has lived in Luxor for 17 or 18 years.

Our stay in London. It was a package holiday to Europe. We landed at the London airport in the morning of a Saturday and we could only check into our rooms at 5 in the evenin. We were lounging around and sightseeing on our own.

I can't believe your husband wouldn't buy any food, or that you didn't have any money of your own
