I am proud to announce that our present electric usage is down from last month so far. Just paid our bill. We have two televisions on all of the time, one meal cooked on stove, internet on and grandson's Xbox is on about 2:30p. until 8p. daily. So last month we used 2141 kWh. This month so far we have used 1788 kWh. That is 353 less Hope we can keep it down. How are you folks doing?

It would be reasonable to expect a gradual decline in electricity demand as we drift further towards the warmer months.

@celticeagle I never really bother about computer and television power usage because the heating is by far the most significant figure.

Yes, I agree. Am hoping to get the kids to use less tv and internet this summer so that will go down in the fall months as well.

I am very thrifty and the bill has come down also..I am not sure of the usage, but as long as the price is down that shows it. I believe something in here, namely the buzzing fridge is taking more than necessary.

Could be. You could vacuum the back and that might help. I want to try to get mine down.

@celticeagle Nope it is the fan motor that this place wont replace..I cleaned it really well months ago, called maintenance out, but they are useless and lazy.

We just got our bill. Due to the cold snap we had, the furnace going on the blink, and having to use the electric space heaters, our bill was higher than expected. Now to get the dang thing caught up so I don't have to worry when it comes time to use the AC's.

I'm glad we have what is called Level Pay here. They average or usage and charge us accordingly. It is nice to pay the same thing each month.

I shut everything off when I am not home as it doesn't get used then when i'm home it goes back on until I go to bed. I try to save as much as i can.

Ours seems to move up or down every month. But I'm sure it will be up now that it's already summer here.

Less cooking and heat off helps here. The A/C will only be used on occasion. I am going to keep track from month to month and see if we can get it down a bit.

we average 300 a week, so that puts us at 1200 odd a month.

We are sure above that. I would live to get it down. We are on level pay and its $168 a month now. It was $88 a couple of years ago.

@Jessicalynnt ...I close everything up during the day and open it all up at night. I have the fan running alot in the hotter summer months.

@celticeagle we get higher in the summer but have done things like energy eff bulbs, layers of curtains to block out sun and keep heat out, etc.
