Dad’s Ribs

As I offer you stories from my life in-between I think it might be interesting for you to also read some stories about my parents. Before I was born my dad gave my mom a dreadful fright. He was taking a shower and mom heard him singing and hoping about in the tub. Suddenly there was a dreadfully loud thud and then silence. Well mom was naturally afraid to even go to the bathroom to find out what had happened. She imagined him dead or his head cracked open etc. You can imagine how she felt.
Well when the silence got too long and mom’s heart was threatening to jump out of her mouth she slowly went to the bathroom. Dad was sitting up in the tub in great pain. He was a tall man 6 feet and 1 inch and he fell straight down in the tub when his feet slid out from under him. Thank God it wasn’t any worse than some broken ribs and he had them taped up.
Are you careful in the tub? Do you use a rubber mat?

I am surprised he broke ribs in the bath. I'll be more careful in future although I don't often have baths.

@RasmaSandra We always have showers but sometimes if I'm tired and stiff I'll soak in a bath.

I can not say that I blame her for being frightened to go check. I am glad it wasn't any worse than some broken ribs.
I am very careful in the shower but no we don't have a rubber mat in there. Our shower isn't very big at all as it's not a bath but just the stall for the shower itself.

@ScribbledAdNauseum BTW I love your choice of name here. I think the floors in the shower stall are not as slipper as those in bathtubs. Just be careful.

Oh dear glad he was okay at least if not in pain my friend.
I am extremely careful all the time.
I know how bad it is to get an injury when falling.

@TiarasOceanView I'm sorry my mom had to go through that scare but at least I wasn't around yet or she would have had to deal with a crying child as well.
