So, why have so many writing sites flat out failed?

What's your take on the failure of sites such as Yahoo! Contributor Network, Voices and Bubblews? Was it A. Greed? B. Stupidity? C. That Panda algorithm? D. Dumb luck? E. all of the above? F. None of the above, something else entirely

I only know about Bubblews and I think that was just Stupidity all the way.

They had a group of people making the decisions and I bet they did not all see eye to eye on things. Some of them actually had concerns for the writers. But as a group they were opportunity seekers.
